Saint Mark Choir started in the 1940s in Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt; with an aim to share the message of love, peace, and joy with everybody. Back then, it was the only four-part choir in the Coptic Church performing inside churches allover Egypt. 

In the year 1982, the choir started participating in public cultural activities outside the church such as Cairo Opera House, Shopping malls, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria Opera House, and several hotels besides its usual Church services.

The choir has also taken part in numerous TV shows, radio programs, recorded several albums, and video clips.

Saint Mark Choir performs various genres ranging from ancient Coptic and folkloric Egyptian, through classical works, to modern styles. The choir enriches its work through collaborating with several contemporary composers, and different musical groups.
