The Makalan Trip -Preview (Sto_ik & Deraout)

STO_IK immersed himself into the electronic music scene in the late 2000's.  Juan Rendon, better known as STO_IK, has been making some noise.  Based out of Miami, Fl, he adopted the alias about two years ago and has since been developing his unique sound.  His tracks can be described as dark and hypnotic with underlying synth lines that make a crowd move.  The most recent released productions have been in the upper 130 bpm range, not uncommon for the Boston native.  Released an EP under Morph Label based out of Miami, FL last year and his latest EP was for  Northern Parallels label.   Other releases include a collaboration track with Deraout (MUTE Medellin/Intelligent Division) for Lord Musik label compilation EP.
Born and raised in the city of Boston, that’s where the love for electronic music kicked off. There were many nights of underground techno seeing influential artists such as Richie Hawtin, Markantonio, Drumcell, Paco Osuna, Danny Tenaglia, Matthew Dear, Kink, and Perc.  Soon he had his own a residency at Rise After-hours in Boston.  Experiencing the growing scene in Medellin, Colombia played a major role in developing his precise sound, the Colombian culture and appreciation for music is what sparked and fueled the desire in him to pursue music production and electronic artist as a full time career.
