Experimenting, developing his skills for years and expanding his love for Techno also to the DJ side; wandering between various genres and never standing still. Having re-emerged to great acclaim on Delsin in 2012 with an excellent album and EP offering, Manchester's Claro Intelecto is back once again. This time out, following the label re-releasing his debut EP Peace Of Mind, Claro is serving up four brand new tracks that fuse his usual deep, dubby house and techno stylings to swathes of lush ambiance and delicate sound design. 

First up is 'Remember', a mid-tempo track with thundering kicks and little malfunctioning machine noises floating in swathes of cavernous dub. Subtle rhythms emerge from the murk and tortured, ghoulish sounds imbue them with a real sense of paranoia. 'White Sun' is full of Claro Intelecto's usual smeared synth and weirdly atmospheric ambient sounds and only after two minutes does a slow, purposeful kick drum arrive, but even then you are rather left swirling and floating in his textural chambers than marching to a beat.

'A Nightmare Before Bedtime' is a melange of clipped and scary voices, grainy white noise gusts and heavy, lazy kick drums. Super slow and seriously moody, it's a perfectly unsettling track that is wholly befitting of its name. Finally, 'Blank CC' is the most direct thing here, where frazzled and serrated lines rip about above stormy synth seas. Prickly, ever more intense and full on non standard electronic sounds it's another of Claro Intelecto's abstract offerings that really arrests your attention.

Planet Rhythm is gearing up for the second effort in their PRRUKBLK series. Both Moerbeck and Fanon Flowers have come up with 2 gritty peak-time anthems made out of heavy drum-action, distortion and hazardous percussion. 

Moerbeck's A-Side is a ferm combination of granular synthesis and vigorous drums. Where "Black Hand" recalls memories of graveyard shifts in soviet coal mines, the A2 track Mode evokes up a more tripped out state of mind.

Fanon Flowers lays down a more ominous ambiance for his B1 track that has the more than suitable title "Vulturec Circling Part 3". Closing down the B side we find "Vulturec Circling Part 1" which carries that same threatening vibe but with even more energy due to the use of abundant percussion.

It’s been four years since my last own EP on Stockholm LTD.
The main reason for this is that I have been surrounded by music that has inspired
me much more than my own.

This EP was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount
of frustration. I was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it
appeared with a strength that I haven’t felt for long time. I’m now curious for more.

While sketching the title track, ’Wyatt Arp’, I couldn’t get Detroit legend, Terrence
Dixon, out of my mind. Terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always
stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths.

@Benales has been honing his craft since the end of the 90s. 

As an avid record collector, vinyl only DJ and enthusiast of Techno and House – his DJ sets and tracks combine the raw, dark and deep elements of these musical forms with a firm nod in the direction of Detroit. 

His talent allows him to put himself in many clubs in Europe like Tresor, Rex Club, Le sucre, The Gate (Georgia) but also as a regular guest of Concrete when it’s not rare to find Benales surrounded by guest of solid reputation like DVS1, Zadig, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Dj Pete, James Ruskin. 

Fascinated by Techno and coldness of electronic music, he released some EP’s and remixes on Sino (Technasia's label), and notably “Elements part 1 & part 2” have marked his spot in the international scene. 

Over the years, he had several releases on outstanding labels like Suburban Avenue, Analog Solutions, Knotweed, @diffusereality, @keyvinyl, and many more to follow.

GUEST SERIES : Benales

The 48th instalment of our FWP series is supplied by USA based DJ and producer, Jay York. 

Jay has been producing and DJing for two years and has made considerable progress in a short space of time with his productions gaining support from the likes of MARRØN, Setaoc Mass, and many others. 

He provides us with an hour of fast, driven grooves mixing between 90s and modern techno.

Following their highly acclaimed 'Alpha ep', released on Pfirter's MindTrip record label in 2020, Pfirter and Oliver are now taking the concept one step further on to Pär Grindvik's Stockholm LTD record label.
If Alpha was all about loopy old school sounding techno, 'Beta' is taking a deeper approach without reducing the raw energy that the two producers are known for.

Oliver and Pfirter have spent the last few years honing a unique writing process.
The process itself is very simple, as the pair explains:
- Most tracks start with that Oliver’ recording ‘live takes’ with his machines, then passing these recordings to Pfirter who is in charge of the mixing and arrangement.
“So far we haven't done many retakes or even had to revisit the tracks more than a few times” says Pfirter.
