Just think of it as some kind of aural patina reminding you this sound is reaching out from a different spacetime as it is doing it to you in your earhole ;-)

I've been looking around for a reference to this tune and on which album or 45 it was originally issued. Haven't  found anything yet, seems to be somewhat forgotten... OK, so maybe not a clasico, but it should be! :-) 
Here it is taken from pretty cool but rather hard to find (?) compilation issued in the early 70's packed with 'exitos del ayer' from the early 50's through to the 60's.
If anyone has some info or background to share on this tune or the album, I'd be delighted to hear from you!

Highlife tune from Ghana by the Ogyatanaa Showband, released as a 4-track 7" EP on the Agoro label. For dancing feet!

It's silly, it's joyful, it's highly danceable, it's a Ghanaian danceband highlife tune! Amongst the most famous highlife bands of its day, the City Boys Band were led by the charismatic "Black Chinese", Ɔbuɔba J.A. Adofo. Taken from their 1976 "Ɔdɔ Da Baabi" LP.

City Boys Band - Mensuro Owuo

The Dominican-born composer, arranger and bandleader Porfi Jimenez made it big in 60's and 70's Venezuela! Released in 1972, "Parrilla Caliente", meaning "spicy bbq", is basically just another of those cover albums featuring well-known funk, soul and bugalu tunes with a handful of own compositions thrown in. There's also an alternate 1973 colombian press with a different sleeve to be found and its recently bootlegged reissue.
The album kicks off with a particularly nasty version of Fela's "Let's Start", almost putting the original to shame. That's from the mouth of a lifelong Fela fan, mind you. Here's "Y Esa Pava Que", a rough and unpolished bugalu affair with nasty drums, tight horns and one seriously trippy moog to take you through the whole thang...

Laidback groovy guitar thang by Boo and The Tru-Tones from Saint Lucia, recorded and released in 1974 by WIRL, Barbados.
This is probably one of the lesser sought-after titles from the album, but still quite nice nonetheless :-) That's Ronald "Boo" Hinkson on lead guitar, the tight drums are courtesy of Junior St. Omer.

B-side to Voix Africaine VA 011, backed by the legendary Ignace De Souza & his Orchestre Black Santiago. They were quite prolific and backed a whole host of singers etc with, I might guess, quite an output as a result. Of the few tunes I've heard so far, this is probably one of my favorite.
