In case you felt like losing your mind in self-isolation, Stomping Grounds is back with four cuts to bring back your sanity. This is the first time we're putting together a split EP, shared graciously between Romanian duo Heerd and Ireland's Noah Skelton. Starting off with the acid-edged peak timer "Hellrot", going through the atmospheric depth and hypnoticism of "Kamaals's Groove" and "Persistence", the EP is neatly finished with a healthy "Balance" of rolling hats and percussion.

Stomping Grounds is back with some new recruited talent, that will definitely make you give this record a few spins. First track is from Jay Bliss, a deep and moody techno track. Second track is from S.A.M., a guy who has been making waves in the past few years on some of the most respected undergound record labels. Flip the record and you'll find a trippy track from Vlad Radu, half of the VRAC project, who's also been featured on Rhadoo's Fabric mix.

You’re forgiven if you’ve never heard of Discret Popescu, neither did we, until we started digging a bit deeper. Mr. Popescu comes from palinka-land, a quiet place where nothing out of the ordinary happens very often. Perhaps that’s why he’s developed such an interesting and groovy approach to his music. Digging a bit deeper into his background, it came as no surprise that Discret Popescu is in fact, the ying to Alin Crihan’s yang, the lighter more playful side of his sonic universe.

After a few years of releasing quite a bunch of EPs on various labels, Jay Bliss has pulled down the throttle for a while. This doesn’t mean that he took time off from the studio, on the contrary, he perfected his signature sounds. Spending time to bake his own imprints aswell, it’s only natural that his first LP will see the light of day on Stomping Grounds.
     Lush and organic pads, playful textures and attention to details are the building blocks of this introspective work, divided into 6 pieces. In perfect tune with the acoustic aesthetics, Max Binski creates a clean, yet beatiful peace of artwork.

Stomping Grounds was never about riding the waves, but building things in a slow pace and mantaining the balance. Since the very inception we've gone on to feature emerging talent as well as paying homage to scene established artists. This release is no different than the others, featuring V.I.C.A.R.I., Discret Popescu (aka Crihan), Jay Bliss and some fresh blood from Stav (aka InHere) and Dragos Ilici. All four cuts on the record are built around stripped-back and hypnotic grooves, sprinkled with melodic and sophisticated textures on top. As always, final touches are from Berlin's Schnittstelle Mastering.
