Poetry from a tense 3am taxi queue and paint-stripping guitar lines make the debut single from emergent Liverpool agit-new-wavers, STONE an essential window into the discordant feelings of today’s cut-free twenty-somethings. OUT NOW, LEAVE IT OUT finds the prose-spitting tongue of front man, Finley Power, relay the electricity of late-night chaos and the insecurity of social-media-fuelled youth. 

Bursting in without apology, the band – made up of Power (vocals/guitar), Elliot Gill (lead guitar), Sarah Surrage (bass) and Alex Smith (drums) – has already supported IDLES inspirational frontman, Joe Talbot and played in front of sold out crowds at Liverpool’s Olympia and Invisible Wind Factory venues since forming in late 2019. Traversing Liverpool’s lofts and cellars, STONE perform most frequently for clued-in audiences during heavy, invite-only all-nighters in the city. 

Menacing observations in spoken word verses climbing towards the peak of an impassioned, hollering, join-in chorus is emblematic of STONE’s earliest recordings, with Leave It Out the first in a series of soon-to-be released tracks. More music is to slowly emerge throughout Spring 2020 as companions to their frenetic, under- and overground live shows.
