Against considerable personal odds Paul van Dyk’s still managed to land some of 2016’s heaviest hitting trancers. Most recently he collaborated with Alex M.O.R.P.H. on the month Beatport #1 chart slam ‘We Are’, delivering in the process summer’s most truly trance moment. 

This December, with anthem-in-the-making ‘Everyone Needs Love’, PvD returns for his last musical dispatch of the year. For it, he’s assembled an impressive vocal & production cast. Side by side in the studio with Dutch underground trance hero Ronald van Gelderen, the quartet’s completed by US-based singer/songwriters Gaelen and Eric Lumiere. 

On releasing ‘Everyone Needs Love’, Paul says: “as much as I thought I understood love, I’ve learnt considerably more these last nine months. In more ways than I could imagined, love made a battle worth fighting. Had it not been there for me, I’m not sure I’d be here today.”. 

Combining a locomotive bottom-end with a positively aerodynamic top, together Paul & Ronald prove every bit the potent studio force you’d imagine. With chemistry most evident, the Original Mix of ‘Everyone’ unites Gaelen & Eric Lumiere for its vocal fulcrum. Edging the track onto later night ground, Paul’s VANDIT Mix squeezes the tempo gas, lets the cables rush and the speakers’ roar. Heftier beats and lower frequency bass flow through its classically built PvD Club Mix, pushing ‘Everyone’s needle into peak-night territory.  

‘Everyone Needs Love’ is the PvD year-closeout fans will be heartened to hear.

Trance legend Paul van Dyk has announced a monumental North American tour today, presented by Insomniac’s Dreamstate trance brand. The tour consists of 12 dates, sprawling across the U.S. and Canada, capped off with a headlining performance at Dreamstate Festival in San Francisco on May 27th. Playing expansive venues like Washington D.C.’s EchoStage, Opera Nightclub in Atlanta, and House of Blues in Boston, this tour ushers in the new year for trance lovers everywhere; Paul will be joined by trance stars like Vini Vici, Simon Patterson, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Heatbeat and Solarstone along the way, rounding out a can’t-miss event in the dance music world. 

In addition to the tour announcement, Paul van Dyk has also released his next single called ‘Touched by Heaven’, an aptly named track, indeed. Featuring enigmatic, large swells and a classic, rolling PvD bassline, ‘Touched by Heaven’ is a beautiful song. The entrancing melody is carefully wrapped around aggressive, almost brash flavors, combining for what will undoubtedly be one of the biggest trance songs of the year.  

This will be Paul’s first official major tour since his stage accident last year, a massive achievement for an artist who at one point did not know if he would be able to ever perform again. Fortunately, PvD has recovered enough to continue doing what he loves most - playing music to his fans. 

Since its 2015 debut in Southern California, Dreamstate has traveled around the world to six major cities across four countries including North America, Mexico, the UK, and Australia. The brand continues to grow as trance infiltrates mainstream dance music culture, with no signs of slowing down - exemplified by Paul van Dyk’s major US tour. Dreamstate recently announced the its first-ever branded stage at North America’s largest dance music festival and Insomniac’s flagship event, EDC Las Vegas 2017. Paul van Dyk is a regularly billed and beloved artist at Dreamstate events globally, drawing thousands of fans to each of its immersive experiences.      

It’s another busy year for the German producer, who just recently was named the second most traveled artist in the modern era of music.  According to a TravelBird survey, Paul van Dyk has travelled a distance which equates to 58 trips around the world, topping the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and U2 among others.

Holiday flights are airborne, Ibiza’s floors are heaving, festival season’s in high gear and the weather, well, it seems to be done disgracing itself for now. Yes indeed, summer’s well and truly upon us. Something’s still amiss though and we reckon you’ve already put your finger on what that is! 

A hot-season embracing, see-you-down-the-front PvD floor-roar is what’s required and right on cue, everyone’s favourite trance vanguard drops one into July’s frame. (Didn’t seriously think he was going to leave you hanging, right?!) So break out yer summer clobber, lace up that clubbing rubber and get ready to have sun-season 2017 refined and thoroughly defined by the epic ‘Stronger Together’.

Without giving too much away, placing future talent in the spotlight will play a key part in Paul’s agenda over the next 12 months. That gets underway with his first side-by-side with the eminently gifted Pierre Pienaar. Through ‘Far Away’, and most recently ‘Higher State’, solo, Pierre’s already squared a number of sure-shot rockers into VANDIT’s net. Now the Namibian born-&-based producer is stepping up for his first PvD collab. 

Thematically, ‘Stronger Together’s centre of gravity remains close to the Spring-released uplifter ‘Touched By Heaven’. Instrumental to its core, Paul & Pierre construct a primetime-directed rhythm and tempo for the track. Those summertime sensibilities are writ 10ft large throughout, as the pair thread azure-ish harmonics, cursive synths and an absolute TKO of a mainline into its production. 

More lift than Boeing, greater thrust than Ferrari and purer summer sublimation than several rounds of mojitos, ‘Stronger Together’ is Trance to love on a cellular level. Best of all, it reaches Spotify and all good download shores today (21.07.17).

Paul van Dyk will tomorrow release a new song, I AM ALIVE. The single serves as the fourth offering from van Dyk’s forthcoming album, From Then On, which is out on October 20th on VANDIT Records. Previously released singles include Touched by Heaven, Everyone Needs Love with Ronald van Gelderen feat. Gaelan & Lumiere, and Stronger Together with Pierre Pienaar.

I AM ALIVE is a gorgeously upbeat tune from one of trance’s most iconic artists. Full of sweeping melodic synths and pulsing at a thumping 138 bpm, I AM ALIVE is another classic release that sets a high bar for van Dyk’s imminent album. 

The name of the single is an acknowledgement to Paul’s newfound appreciation for life, after overcoming a near death experience. It is indeed the first track he produced after the accident in 2016. Having gone through months of recuperation, van Dyk emerged from the tragedy with a reinvigorated quench for life and renewed passion to live every moment to the fullest.

From Then On is a reflection of Paul van Dyk’s rediscovered passion for life and music. The album was made in the months following the accident, produced and recorded with various friends and collaborators around the world. The album was made without any A&R, and is arguably the most personal project so far to date in van Dyk’s career.
