The idea for this project started off as a retrospection of my personal experiences. 
I was reflecting on how far I’ve progressed in life, throughout the emotional roller-coasting and self doubt. I was envious of others, because I felt I wasn’t progressing; while watching my peers accomplish their goals. 
I’ve never felt seen, nor have I ever been the centered of attention, which made me feel insecure. As a human, I think everyone has felt this way. 
I embraced who I am, deciding to make music out of creativity, and the enjoyment; not trying to impress anyone. 
I decided to produce my own beats, and enjoy the process of trial and error. 

80s new wave was a huge influence on me, because I identified with the New Romantic era. 
Being a black man in a patriarchal and prejudice society; embracing my masculinity and feminine traits; something I felt condemned for growing up; I found it to be my uniqueness. 
It helped me to fully understand the struggles of other marginalized groups. I showcased my hopeless romantic feelings through soft sensitive vocal stylings and lyrics. 
I touch on drug culture, misogynoir and toxic relationships. 
There are influences from 90s R&B with simple and laidback beats. The listener will experience my journey from unsureness to confidence. While enjoying my interpellation of retro sounding beats.
