After the success of our first volume, we proudly present Volume 2 — a compilation that reimagines tracks from Gannein catalogue through the distinct visions of a diverse group of artists. This release is an act of solidarity: all proceeds will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

Kurz was über mich : Heiße Alex, bin 43 Jahre alt und wohne in Remagen/RLP. In der folgenden Biographie sollte jetzt vermutlich eine Auflistung von großen Festivals, auf denen ich aufgelegt hab, kann ich aber leider nicht mit dienen. Ich sehe mich vielmehr als einen Musikliebhaber, der sich im zarten Alter von 17 Jahren (1993) seine ersten Turntables gekauft hat, und los ging`s. Mittlerweile ist das ganze auch auf digital umgesprungen, aber die Euphorie und Liebe zur Musik ist ungebrochen. Hab paarmal für Rhenania Beats Cologne und in der RedCatLounge/Köln aufgelegt.

[Seit dem Siegeszug der digital gespeicherten Musik wird der sogennante “Loudness-War” ausgefochten. Das liegt daran, dass lauter klingende Musik zunächst auch als besser empfunden wird. Da der tatsächlich erreichbare Pegel aber begrenzt ist, wird versucht, die Musik immer lauter klingen zu lassen. Wie man das erreicht? Man komprimiert die Musik, indem man die lautesten Impulse mittels eines sogenannten Kompressors leiser macht. Man dämpft quasi die Spitzen. Das resultierende Signal kann nun insgesamt höher gepegelt werden und klingt lauter und durchsetzungsfähiger. So weit, alles prima. Leider geht auch einiges an Natürlichkeit und Druck verloren, wenn die Dynamik der Musik so beschnitten wird. Ausserdem strengt gnadenlos komprimierte Musik die Ohren an.

Since the triumph of the digitally stored music, the so-called "Loudness War" is being fought out. The reason is that loud-sounding music initially as a better perceived.
