StopDropNSmile is a producer and rapper from the USA, located in CT. When he was just beginning music, he loved rock music and started his own band. At this time, he was only in 7th grade, around the age of 13 years old. He then asked his dad for a laptop and got a Dell with very little power, but managed to do some recording with an ST51 ,M-Audio Fast track and Mixcraft. A few years later, he moved and met some friends in the new high school he was attending. StopDropNSmiles’ friends were into a lot of hip-hop and rap. He was very motivated to find a way to fit in, and thought to himself that if he provided a common interest in hip-hop and started making and recording it, he would fit in well. This worked for only so long as he lived far away from everyone else in the town, and being only 15, it was hard to get a ride places. In addition to making hip-hop beats for local rappers, he started to find an interest in rapping himself. For about a year he was rapping on a lot of his own original material, but was also doing some remixes. Being 16 now, he started taking advantage of the internet looking for other producers that wanted to collaborate. He found that many producers were into electronic dance music, especially Dubstep and Drum and Bass. While still being 16, he was working with producers around the world and had 11,000 dollars in equipment that he purchased by himself with his own programming business. Now that he is almost 17, StopDropNSmile is mainly producing EDM and loving it!
