Learn more about SoundSquad, SoundCloud’s official on-campus college ambassador program for the Fall 2025 semester, which kicked off at the Atlanta University Center with our inaugural Jump In The Booth event.
SoundCloud has officially debuted SoundSquad, our official on-campus college ambassador program. For the first iteration of the program, SoundCloud kicked off SoundSquad in collaboration with Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University — known as the Atlanta University Center, or AUC.
To celebrate how deep music runs through the AUC calendar and Atlanta culture at large, SoundCloud is connecting with ambassadors to elevate on-campus creativity; giving AUC students opportunities to record, perform and promote their music, through digital and experiential activations hosted by SoundCloud. The program will run throughout the Fall 2025 semester, from August 25 until December 12.
At the AUC, SoundSquad is led by 10 ambassadors. From DJs to rappers, producers to digital creators, event organizers, playlist makers and beyond, the ambassadors are some of the AUC’s most respected creative personalities. This class of ambassadors has deep ties to existing music communities and student activities, from groups like Morehouse Music Group or Spelman's Women in Hip Hop, to student unions like Morehouse's C.A.S.A. or Spelman's P.U.L.S.E.
Across the AUC, the ambassadors connect students with the SoundCloud platform, drop exclusive SoundSquad merch and amplify the best on-campus talent through our dedicated events and digital promotions. You can find out more about the ambassadors’ own music, and music to come from the SoundSquad semester, here.
Jump In The Booth: Live From The AUC With Producer Sonny Digital
To kick off SoundSquad and the Fall Semester, on August 27, SoundCloud hosted its inaugural Jump In The Booth event. An opportunity for students to record music on-campus in a professional recording space, Jump In The Booth saw SoundCloud bring a mobile studio to the Morehouse College Promenade during Hump Wednesday’s RSO (Registered Student Organization) Fair, in collaboration with Top Barz. Students from across the AUC came down to get involved.
Pre-loaded with a selection of beats, the mobile studio allowed students to drop by and record an original verse, supported by the ambassadors and a dedicated engineering team. After getting their verse just right, students uploaded their tracks to SoundCloud and tapped into the AUC network of fellow creatives through our ambassadors’ guidance.
As part of Jump In The Booth, students got a surprise visit from a homegrown legend: rap producer, artist and DJ Sonny Digital. Throughout his storied career as one of ATL’s most in-demand producers, Sonny Digital has collaborated on hit tracks with artists such as Future, Travis Scott and Drake, and fellow Atlanta hitmakers 808 Mafia and Metro Boomin.
When he came by the mobile studio, Sonny Digital gave students advice on how to craft and record the perfect verse and beat — and was so impressed with the talent on display, he invited a select number of students back to his own studio to keep recording, after Jump In The Booth had wrapped.
“SoundCloud played a major role in my whole, entire journey, as far as getting my earlier hits, like ‘Red Opps’ with 21 Savage,” said Sonny Digital, live from Jump In The Booth. “SoundCloud always looked out [for me]; it was always a place to put your music up before it was easy to get your music up.”
When it comes to advice for the Jump In The Booth participants, and those looking to tap into the SoundSquad, Sonny Digital says, “You can be inspired by each other, just don’t copy each other. As long as you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, people will see you.”
Check out the SoundSquad SoundCloud to hear some of the most fire verses from Jump In The Booth, and original music from our ambassadors, including Nay $peaks and Yanko.
