I have known MCK since our first year in school. We hung out since we were 6 years old boys and from our teenage years on we did Hip Hop together (never released, just for fun). In the year 2002 I said "Hey listen. There is this UK label called Deathchant. They are doing Hardcore with samples of old HipHop songs. Why dont we do something like that but with one of our own texts?" He was into it right away and as there was a CD compilation coming up with trax from each area of Germany we thought we use this idea to represent the south, and so we started writing "Der Süden rockt". 

This track definitely went down in the history of German Hardcore. I think if the langue barrier wouldnt have been there it could have been as big as Todesvögel. But still it got released on the label that originally inspired us, Deathchant, in 2005. And even today people tell me how iconic this track is, which makes me superproud. 

As the track is now 20 years old I thought I could give it a little update. Mainly soundwise. I kept all the structure as I didnt really wanted to do a remix. Both original and remake are now on Bandcamp FOR FREE.

Peter Nitschke aka Stormtrooper is a name you should know if you are into hard electronic music. Starting off in 1997 with productions on an Amiga 500 and gigs at small parties in Munich his sound evolved fast, and soon he was one of the most known hardcore acts in South Germany. After some years around he drew the attention of one of hardcore's godfathers, none other than Lenny Dee, and got signed to Industrial Strength with his massive hit "Todesvögel".

Collaborations with famous artists like The Speed Freak, Daisy and Amok followed. With releases on well known labels as Artillery, Rebelscum, Deathchant, and countless others his style ranges from slow heavy pounding Techno and Industrial to broken beats and uptempo Hardcore. He is also know for his techno productions as "Peter Sturm", hardtechno productions under the name "X-Tension" (together with Thomas Nordmann), his acid trax as "Alice D.", Breakcore stuff as "German Rhythm Disaster", EBM Techno as "PN-X-TG" (together with Petrabot) and Stomping Techno as "The Brutal & Sadistic Show" (with Minupren)

Loving to push the crowd to their limits, with constantly increasing speed during his sets, Stormtrooper already proved at parties like Thunderdome, Mayday, Energy, Nature One and Defqon (to name just a few), that his style is unique.

With his label RAVE MUZIK he defines the spirit of the 90s movement once again. Trax like "Exhale Fantasy", "Groove with me" and "Radiant" let you relive the most euphoric moments and show how perfect the combination of beautiful melodies and hard bassdrums can be.
