This song was recorded with some local Santa Cruz Musicians in Santa Cruz with my Sister and recorded live by my boss at the time. My goal was always to have a female vocalist on all my tracks as inspired by the Pixies.

Long ago there was a boy who went commercial fishing with my Father, leaving the safety of the Monterey Bay (California) and off into the wilds of the Pacific Ocean. Always humming melodies that got stuck in my Dad’s head, it became clear while growing up I had a knack for melodies. After many ocean journeys, a life amongst the saltiest of the saltiest sailors, sharks, mermaids and even near death experiences at sea myself, I was inspired to write songs about all life as I experienced it on my own. The lyrics would have a naturally nautical leaning heavily salted with experience on the ocean and up and down the West Coast. After some years singing as frontman for a melodic punk band, I searched long and hard for a crew and retinue of mermaids that took a decade to find and the years payed off, even after a quick visit to Davey Jone’s locker and back! Now that boy is a man or rather a musical captain as it were, The Captain, now setting sail for high seas musical adventure, should you dare to join Me!  For fans of Pixies, Weezer, Nirvana, Jimmy Eat World, blink-182, Green Day, Queen, The Cars, Blondie, Twenty One Pilots and more.
