Part of the a partnership project Oxford and Caribbeanity NOW, exploring the significance of Caribbean folk tales to different generations in Oxford’s Caribbean community today. Based in TORCH – The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities – and funded by the University of Oxford’s van Houten Fund, The Oxford & Caribbeanity Now project (2021-23) comprises a series of community activities that actively respond to questions of the University’s role in the Atlantic slave trade, and crucially how it has engaged, and envisages a future with, the Caribbean communities that live in the city of Oxford.
