Downplay is proud to present the new EP from Lincolnshire producer Deadly Habitz.

‘Do It All Again’ is a mellow, dubbed-out 2-step bubbler, complete with echoing vocals and subtle keys dropping in and out of the mix. Underpinnng the beat is a classic UKG bassline designed to drive the groove forward. One for them hazy, smoked-out twilight hours.

‘You Got Me’ opens up the tempo with a rolling 2-step beat over retro piano keys and diva vocals, before dropping into some seriously filthy sub-bass that will test any soundsystem. Finally label mates Royal Flush step up to remix the former track into a blissed-out dub joint packed full of sunshine for those mellower moments on the floor.

We are gifted five tracks of groovy spice, kicking off with the crunchy drum work of 'First Choice' and the nostalgic bleepy melodies of 'Neutrons'. Next, we the fantastic vocal slicing and old school rhythmic chops of 'Nice & Slow', along with the slapping grooves and constantly evolving 'Parallel', before finishing up the pleasingly rustic garage movements of 'Universe'

As we progress further and further into this new series of 'Introducing' releases, we intend to bring some exciting new faces into the fold, showcasing the best in new bass music. This week, we introduce you to Jake Compton, one of Brighton's exciting new school producers. 'ID' showcases Jake’s production style perfectly, as he fuses moogish synthetic drags with gnarly subs and choppy, sharp drum pushes, giving the track a real potent sense of 4x4 energy. We are very excited to welcome Jake into the extended Southpoint family.

As we continue to soldier on through bleak and unusual times, we are very happy to continue as we have always done here at The 3000 Network, by providing the scene with ever more experimental and creative 4x4 bass music. Today, we are back doing what we love the most as we welcome the return of the rapidly rising Jake Compton.

He returns to 3000 Bass for a weighty return as he graces us with ‘Move Like Dis’, an extremely wobbly chopper, driven by it’s colourful LFO designs and sharp, impactful drum designs to bring some wonky groove to the dance. We are loving the route that Jake has taken with this one and can’t wait to see what else 2020 holds in store for him!

Having performed at numerous venues around the city, he has earned his place amongst the bass communities finest performers, now holding down regular residencies at The Arch, which was this year nominated in Skiddle’s ‘Best Club Venue’ award.
