This was the product of a link up between Leominster based Jakebob and Ludlow based Pri-D, as well as the beats coming from me!

We created a 6 track ep that was a relativley short project to showcase our love for home crafted uk hip hop and get something out there as a collective.

How Hard You Try - Jakebob & PRI-D (Prod. Browne)

Almost a year on from his first official Southpoint appearance, Jakebob steps forward with his debut ‘Champion’ EP. Known for his wavey production style, incredible consistency and overall originality, Jakebob’s first solo Southpoint release is something we have been looking forward to for some time.

To start off, the title track ‘Champion’ is a masterpiece. It incorporates all aspects of Jakebob’s production arsenal, with blistering lead synths coupled alongside epic flute and choir harmonies. Next, we move into ‘Wolf Whistle’: an airy flute-based grime instrumental that MCs up and down the country are going to fighting tooth and nail over.

The super innovative garage-esc sounds of ‘Dusties’ (in collaboration with Lingerz) follows, with a high profile, Asian-themed collaboration with Drax entitled ‘Surai’, rounding up the EP perfectly. Razor reemerges with his electric vocal of ‘Rago’ featuring a weighty hook from Jakebob himself. On remix duty, Albzzy makes his Southpoint debut with a vibrant rethink of title track ‘Champion’. This EP truly showcases what Jakebob is about, and we couldn't be more excited.
