Tobias -ს როგორც ლაივ შემსრულებელის დებიუტი BASSIANI-ზე 2014 წლის ბოლო ღამეს შედგა, BASSIANI-ს პოდკასტების სერია კი წარმოგიდგენთ მისი მეორე და არანაკლებ დასამახსოვრებელი ლაივის ჩანაწერს, რომელიც მან 2015 წლის 31 დეკემბერს, BASSIANI / Ostgut ton Nacht-ზე შეასრულა.








German musician Tobias Freund is one of the most prominent figures on the electronic music scene. He is a member of Ostgut Ton family and a Berghain resident. 

Tobias.’s interest towards the sound of electronic origins was vastly due to his attachment to analog instruments. Essential part of his influences was musical atmosphere of 80’s in Frankfurt but he still moved to Berlin seeking more creative freedom. For over 20 years he has been taking sound engineer duties and that is significantly reflected in his music. There is no preliminary concept behind his work, it’s formed and developed from experiments. Technical perfection in his music is not at the expense of ignoring dramaturgical side, a proof to what is his every peace of work. Freund’s production as well as his every live-set has it’s own special and unique sound. 

Tobias. is behind of such collaborative projects as Odd Machine, NSI, Atom TM & Tobias, etc. He is also in charge of label Non Standard Productions, which was founded in 2006 and since then is a platform for peculiar and experimental music.

Recorded during a set I played at an art exhibition opening in Modena. A bit more ambient (and quite a few BPM slower) than my usual set, but together with suicase.org's lush live video footage it made for a beautiful experience.

Trust the Bha crew to bring you some holiday cheer. 

Back in 2011, the Bha crew hosted The Modern Deep Left Quartet, an offset the acclaimed Cobblestone Jazz, led by the singular Mathew Jonson alongside Tyger Dhula, Danuel Tate and The Mole at Aurus, Bombay, one of our (and the city’s) most unforgettable sun-kissed terrace parties, which spawned countless “Sundowner” imitations. 

The music shuttled between jazz improvisation, deep electronic music cuts and some of the irresistibly hypnotic Cobblestone Jazz & Mathew Jonson sound. It was tasty, it was groovy, it got downright rowdy (as most Bha gigs eventually are) as four men huddled behind a ton of analogue gear produced inspired moments of a spontaneous electronic music jam. 

Here’s the recording of that two-hour plus journey as proof.
