Avec son aimable autorisation voici une adaptation d'une chanson de Gérard Delassus (paroles de Marie Delassus) dont je suis tombé amoureux cet été. Je parle de la chanson, pas de Gérard ! Vous pouvez entendre la version originale (et bien d'autre pépites) sur la page SoundCloud de Gérard ici :

C'est l'orage qui gronde...

Des hommes d'autrefois
Qui dormaient sous ce toit

C'est un chien qui aboie...

Loin dans la nuit des temps,
Répond un chien errant
Qui suivait l'inconnu

Une musique au loin...
Les fêtes et le vin,
Vendanges et moissons,
L'amour sur tous les tons
Faisait chanter les gens,
J'entends encore leurs chants.

C'est la cloche qui sonne
Au soleil de l'été,
D'un été oublié.
La foule endimanchée
S'en va se joindre aux ombres
Sous le grand porche sombre.

Et c'est la pluie qui tombe
Et le ciel qui se plombe...
J'entends les eaux qui montent,
Le pays qui s'enfonce,
Les hommes qu'elle tue,
La Loire des grandes crues.

C'est le glas qui s'égrenne...
Tant de joies, tant de peines...
Clameurs, gémissements,
Et rires des enfants...
Ils sont passés par là.
Ils ne reviendront pas

This recording  was part of my very first studio production. I labeled it "affettuoso assai" and made copies on CompactCassettes, each one by hand !  During the following years I managed to sell 500 pieces during my first gigs and concerts and was enormously proud of it.
