FRANCOIS DILLINGER [Ben Worden], glides between the two worlds of electro and techno. Hot off a live set at Detroit’s Movement Festival—his journey through the genres is dark while retaining a mercilessly intelligent, dancefloor-ori- ented quality. His Live & DJ sets lean heavily into the generation of hypnotic loops, creating long protracted mixes between elements of unshakeable tension. As a former promoter, long-time performer, and supporter of the scene – he’s been a part of the Detroit underground for over 20 years.

Over the last two years, DILLINGER has released three albums across Diffuse Reality, Specimen Records, and International Chrome. He was featured on several compilations, most notably on Planet E’s Detroit Love series, while over 30 artists remixed his tracks including the likes of Keith ‘K1’ Tucker, Detroit’s Filthiest, Jensen Interceptor, Luxus Varta and others. DILLINGER also hosts MINDFRAME, a monthly residency on Detroit’s Deep Space Radio that features guest performances from across the global electro scene. Support for his music continues from the likes of Dave Clarke and Richie Hawtin; with his latest LP named as Best New Electronic Music by Bandcamp.

FRANCOIS also continues his work with Detroit-based art collaboratives Missing Faces and 313-030, creating immersive A/V installations with shows planned across Detroit and Berlin in the coming year.

Nullptr / Bovaflux(Eddie Symons) is an Electronic producer based in Cambridge, UK. Since his 2016 debut on Detroit Underground he has been producing modular-fuelled intergalactic Electro described as "audibly more far-sighted and otherworldly than his peers" (juno.co.uk).

Eddie's background lies in early 2000s IDM, where he originally released under the Bovaflux alias with Highpoint Lowlife Records. Those influences still continue to echo through his Nullptr material, blending into the post-Drexciyan landscape of the modern Electro scene, as heard on his ever-expanding catalogue of releases on highly respected labels such as Central Processing Unit, Klakson, SolarOneMusic and Fanzine.

Stepping out of the studio for both DJ and hybrid live sets, Nullptr has played on line ups alongside the likes of The Advent, Annie Hall, 96 Back, Plant43 and Versalife.

Early influenced by Belgian and UK Old School Rave sound, Chris Nexus 6 has been gravitating around the electronic scene since 1995. Co-founder of a weekly electronic show on a local radio station in the suburbs of Paris for more than 10 years, Chris gradually abandoned the Acid/Transcore style of his beginnings in favor of a cold and hard-hitting Electro that he still mixes with passion today.

In parallel with his activities, Chris turned to writing musical chronicles for Atome.com (FR), Electro Alliance (US), or Electric Kingdom (US) blogs. Nowadays, he regularly signs artworks and illustrates record covers for some of his favorite labels: New Flesh Records, Rave Or Die, Zodiak Commune, Shipwrec, or Fundamental Bass Intelligence.

Which artist has influenced you the most?

- There are numerous but in Electro, I would name Anthony Rother. I used to listen to techno, acid and hardcore early in the 90's but when "Sex With The Machines" came out, it has been like a storm for me. Since then, I really changed my style and focused on Electro in its purest form.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Anthony Rother, for sure. He's still on top after all those years of production. I would also recommend my bro Umwelt and his labels (Rave Or Die / New Flesh). A killer for sure. And at the moment I'm really into Ole Mic Odd, Serge Geyzel and FracTal just to name... they all have an incredible sound!!

Lefrenk represents the maximum exponent of an ambition to link learning and creative personal evolution, within the underground electronic world map. 

Since he began his experiments with music production software in 2000, Lefrenk has been burning stages, marked by different achievements, such as his official title of "Digidesign Protools", in 2004. That same year, it represents the zero kilometer of his artistic explosion, which has led him to generate more than 100 references to date, published in innumerable specialized labels around the world.

Through his enormous musical production, he has built a body of work hatched from all possible angles of electronic calligraphy. Its own universe, carved out of house culture, techno impulsion and a very personal approach to organic sounds coming from ambient variables or any android reverberation of post-human music. 

Precisely, his dual role as creator and teacher of music production defines a greater need within his modus operandi: to weave a network of artists, collaborations and new values that spread electronic infection at all levels, also within a rich Galician scene. that he is propelling through his teachings as a music production teacher at Fanzine School, A Coruña. 

Even with a long journey ahead, the career of this renowned producer, from A Coruña, promises that the best is yet to come, through renewed forms of pure cybersonic heterodoxy.

Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I have gone through many styles and I am still evolving so there are many artists who have influenced me over time. It's impossible to name just a few, I would include hundreds.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I have several releases in the near future, from Electro to Techno, I prefer not to reveal the labels until the day of the release. And I´m working in an Ambient live act and a Techno live act.

Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now?

- Something similar happens to me as in the first question. I can't choose, there is so much quality today. But I have to mention my friends Roi & The Panic Room with their label Fanzine Records, they have released great artists and all kinds of styles. They are always ahead of the trends. 

What inspires you now to create music?

- My students at Fanzine School, I always learn from them. They influence me and seeing them grow makes me feel proud. They have opened my mind.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- Right now I'm working with Bitwig and Ableton plus Vsts

EKATA is a London based DJ/Producer & Natural Selection Resident whose productions are characterised by their dark, haunting and atmospheric soundscapes, driven by pulsating rhythms and intricate synth work. She is heavily inspired by sci-fi films and the ability to tell a story, which is apparent in all of her mixes and productions.

EKATA is self-described as genre and sound obsessive and has built a reputation as a huge advocate for Electro and it's core roots.Her perfomative sound best personifies dystopian, ominous grooves and obvious sci-fi fixations which embody her carefully picked selections.

Syrte is the Electro & Experimental Electronica alias for Stefan Weise. The name was inspired by the French comic book Valerian & Laureline, the German editions of which Stefan read in his younger days. On page one of the first issue, “The City of a Thousand Planets” is named “Syrte”. 

What started as a way to explore new production methods quickly evolved into a character of its own making Syrte a completely faceless entity with a strong focus on alien and experimental music. Syrte is not about conforming to a set genre or sound. Stefan’s mission as Syrte is about exploring deeper relationships that humans have with machines and moral implications that arise from that and expressing that via music.

Syrte is co-owner of Electro and Experimental label Science Cult.

The EP includes two versions of the single, plus instrumental and acappella cuts. Its sound draws from deep techno, classic house, and breakbeat, shaped by steady rhythms and low-end depth.
