False Identity is a DJ and promoter based in Brussels, Belgium, and the founder of Deviate Records and Deviate Parties. Through these initiatives, he has developed a platform dedicated to the presentation and promotion of electronic music across a spectrum that includes Techno, Electro, EBM, Acid, Wave, and Synth-Punk.

Deviate operates both as a record label and as an event series, focusing on collaborations with artists from these different musical backgrounds. The project places particular emphasis on live performance in club environments and supports the release of vinyl records alongside the organization of events.

Over the years, Deviate has collaborated with a wide range of artists within the electronic and industrial club scene. These include Umwelt, Mind Matter, VSK, Autumns, LFT, Years of Denial, Peryl, Radical G, Minimum Syndicat, Inhalt der Nacht, Ghost in the Machine, NX1, Machino, Meshes, Downwell, Maedon, Leroy Se Meurt, Magnum Opus, Teatre, Filmmaker, Anna Funk Damage, Sophie du Palais, 6SISS, Imperial Black Unit, The Horrorist, Alessandro Adriani, Black Merlin, Crystal Geometry, Kris Baha, and Job Sifre, among others.

Through Deviate Records and its associated events, False Identity continues to support artists working across multiple strands of underground electronic music while maintaining a focus on club-oriented performance and vinyl releases.

Berlin-based DJ Linnea Mae was introduced to the underground electronic music scene while living in Prague in 2021 and started playing in 2025. She is constantly amazed at how vast, interesting, and diverse the world of electro is and wholehearted believes that it should be played more across Europe and beyond. Specifically, she loves the storytelling, thematic, cinematic, silly, and strange elements that she constantly discovers in the music, and notably how knowledgeable, connected, supportive, and passionate the small but strong scene is. 

Which artists has influenced you the most? 
- This has evolved a lot over time, but some of the prominent electro artists who initially introduced me & led me to fall in love with the genre were primarily DJ Stingray, DJ Mell G, Helena Hauff, Exzakt, Detroit In Effect, The Egyptian Lover, etc. 

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- A new electro event in Berlin together with anna andersrum (@anna_andersrum) called Machine Learning. More info coming soon at @machinelearning.808! https://www.instagram.com/machinelearning.808/

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now? 
- Hard to answer because there are honestly so many who I will probably leave out accidentally, but some of the artists who I always feel very compelled to include in mixes are: Calagad 13 (+ all of his label Cosmic Tribe), Romphea, Cyborg Rhetoric, Phasmid, BLUMITSU, AUX 88, Aloka, Beatprozessor, Unklevon, Newmolic, Dagga, The Exaltics, Hedchef, Code Rising, PRZ, and Jackal & Hyde.

What inspires you now to create music? 
- I work a 9-5 job and so almost all day every day while I’m working, I listen to (mostly electro) sets and I find a lot of inspiration there. I usually feel a much deeper initial connection to a track when I’ve heard it mixed in a set and it helps me contextualize ways I might want to mix it or how it connects to other music.

And my friends! Many of them play music, some electro, but also extending to many genres beyond electro, or they just have an extensive knowledge of music and great taste. I am incredibly inspired by hearing what my friends come up with and how they perceive music similarly to me, but especially differently than I do. It’s like a portal into their minds to hear tracks they discover and connect with, how they mix them, and how their taste evolves over time. This inspires me to explore & share my own taste in music with others too. 

What set-up do you use when creating music?
- I have only been DJing for about a year; hopefully some day I’ll also start exploring production too, but not yet :)
