Chris Vocoder born Christian Preissing in the city of Schkeuditz in East Germany before the wall was fallen. First contact of Electro was Kraftwerks „We are the Robots“ in the 2nd grade without any clue what music it is but catched by the first time of the synthetic sound and robot voice.

The wall was fallen and he moved to West Germany and became influenced by the sound of any Electronic Music especially „The Prodigy“, which blew him away.
Dave Clarkes „Electro Boogie 2“ was the beginning to start collecting Electro Records. Fascinated  and reminds to the first contact. Now the baby have name: Electro! 
Mid 90´s to mid 00´s Chris join many Electro, Techno, D´n´B and 2Step Parties and took up the vibe.
The wish to make music came up. And the first music hardware was bought.
Chris processes social, historical, political and technical content. His style is Influenced by darkness of Techno, the groove of D´n´B and the soul of 2step. 

After several years of producing in his project studio Chris came in touch with Supreme.ja and got worth tips & tricks about production and sound design. 
Chris based now in Hamburg.

Goran Alavuk, aka @alavux, is one of the most remarkable electro artists from Eastern Europe. Born in the city of Belgrade, he started as a DJ playing acid, house, and techno already in the mid-90s, and continued his music career by taking his first steps as a producer in the early 2000s releasing his very own productions on renowned labels such as Bunker, Twilight 76, Bass Agenda, and of course 0ktag0n among others. Here we have a truly committed electro veteran that brings a podcast radiating ferocity, tenacious beatlines, fast-paced rhythms, and real fineness when it comes to mixing. Total respect. Enjoy it!

Exactly one year after his 2021 release entitled 'The Electro Manifesto', DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2021 and early 2022. This 25-track album is another thematic nod to class struggle with the hope to stir class consciousness in listeners. Every song title makes reference to some tenant of the destructive and unequal economic system called capitalism as well as its ever-looming shadow socialism. Even the album cover borrows inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda, re-adapting the artistic styles of many communist agitators.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-101, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor to the Electro community for the last 11 years. DVS NME - Universal Equivalent

LDWG is Barry White plays Muslimgauze while drinking an ice cold drink during a perfect storm. Is God with the Club C and the white socks. Or at least a man behind a lot of machines.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I don't have an artist in particular, I like several form of music and what I try to do is to put together in some new forms. I started liking the approach of punk music but I really enjoy many others genres from hip hop / grime to ebm /industrial, and every one is a part of my personal grown. In particular i would like also to mention the  the NEW DANCE SHOW as a container of groove and inspiration for my background ( it was a 90's tv transmission with all the best electro, dance and ebm stuff). I really like the way all different genre were merged during every episod into one big killer selection

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I'm really scared to reveal what's is in my future, as every once I've tell my plan I loose the chance to did it. So I prefer to not talk about. I'll constantly make music, and if someone like it he can take it and release it.

3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- I like Maenad Veyl and veil label, Beau Wanzer, Filmmmaker, Amnesia scanner, Dj Overdose, UMWELT, and others that sure i'm forget to mention at the moment..

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- The shit that happens around and the silence that i like to listen sometimes

5. If it's not a secret, what set-up do you use when creating music?

- It is not a secret as i always put some live video rec on my youtube and instagram page. I really enjoy to have not a predefinite set-up, I used some gear for several years and other for some months, then change them and try different workaround really often . As a play only live rec jam, this kind of exploration makes creativity and production more funny and costantly up my interest in doing music. At the moment i use a lxr02, a pulsar 23, typhon, mfbsynth 2, tr606, liepzig analog solution and many other machine with a massive combo of distortion pedals.

- Hard to pinpoint any one in particular. Psychick Warriors of Gaia, Spacemen 3, People Like Us, Michael Rother, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Ragga Twins, XL Middleton. The list is long...

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- Have just released two tapes. One of new electro material on Posh End Recordings Expiration, by Wee DJs https://fear-e.bandcamp.com/album/expiration and another on Apartment Recordings of archive material from the early 90's. https://apartmentrecords.bandcamp.com/album/being-there
I write music constantly in my free time but I don't really send it to labels so it's hard to say what's next. I'll continue to release new material via bandcamp.

3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Fastgraph, Tapes, XL Middleton. Not sure about labels.....

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- Noises in my head. Listening to music. Suggestions from friends.

5. If it's not a secret, what set-up do you use when creating music?

- Vaz Modular to create Wee DJs music. 
For my other aliases I have a small hardware setup. Couple of Elektron machines, some fx machines, mixing desk etc. One little box I got my hands on is the Audiothingies Micromonsta which is really great. Money isn't readily available so I focus on what I really need.

Strange But Dance Music #90: Wee DJs

Franck Collin, aka Fleck E.S.C, is an Electro artist originally from France currently living in the buzzing metropolis of Tokyo, Japan.
Franck’s earlier experience playing bass and drums in bands, and his love of horror, science fiction and B-movies, naturally drove him to the Electro music scene.

Additionally, Fleck E.S.C has influences rooted in New Wave, Contemporary, Techno and Ambient music.

Fleck E.S.C tries to avoid the cliches of the Electro genre, leaning more toward the spooky side of horror and sci-fi and the cheap retro sounds in tribute of the movies he loves.

Never too serious, unpretentious, and always striving for fresh sounds, Fleck E.S.C’s music aims to distract the body and the brain.

Franck Collin has also worked in movie productions as a camera assistant .
He has also created music for Lipton Cafe Shibuya in Tokyo, theatre performances in Berlin, Germany and the soundtrack for the film,”Astroboy in Robotland”, by renowned director of “Delicatessen” and “The Lost Children”, Marc Caro.

He has also performed as Fleck E.S.C in a number of venues in Europe and Japan.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- A lot of artists has influenced me over the years. For the ambient side of me are Brian Eno, The Orb and many movie soundtracks. Then I really got into Electro through a label called Electrolux where I discovered Anthony Rother, Kraftwerk Dr Scissors to name a few. But now, I realize that I am not very into the most purest form of electro cause I find it a bit always the same sound wise and composition wise. I realize then that Richard.D James is my ultimate master in terms of melodies, textures and innovation. Like Vibert is another guy I love just because he understands the vast possibilities of many electronic music genres. I really love all the Warp label artists from the 90s as well. 
 
2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- Few next releases planned for next year are so far an LP with Diffuse Reality and an EP with Science Cult label. I am also finishing the mix for a 13 track album that isn’t dance music. It’s more electronica, IDM, ambient,. I haven’t contacted any label so far for this project. 
 
3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Back to question 1. I love the 90s Warp releases. But also I’m a big fan of DMX Krew and Dopplereffekt, Cylob and I’m rediscovering the Rephlex label. This label is everything I love about electronic music. It’s crazy, innovating, beautiful, bold, always surprising.  
 
4. What inspires you now to create music?

- I can be inspired by anything. My mood, the news, a software, a piece of gear, a sample, a sound, a movie, a painting, anything really. 
 
5. What set-up do you use when creating music?

- I’m a very basic guy when it comes to make music. I use both softwares and hardwares. Digital and analog, a guitar and a bass guitar as well from time to time. I just okay things, practice and record, then I arrange the tracks. I mainly work with audio. The rhythmic part is made with a Nord Drum, a Elektron Digitakt and Model Cycles and a Polyend Tracker. For the synth parts I use A Dave Smith Mopho keyboard, Arturia Micro brute, arturia Micro Freak, an ARP Odyssey, ARP 2600 ( TTSH), a Moog Mother 32, à Moog Matriarch, a Sequencial OB6, à Roland Juno Alpha 2, a Korg Minilogue xd and few effect pedals. In the box I work with Aleton Live, soundforge and ACID. Old school ;-)
