Strangerkat erschafft eine Klangreise durch die Symbiose sorgfältig ausgewählter Tracks aus unterschiedlichen musikalischen Sphären, die sich dennoch optimal ergänzen. Eines zieht sich durch das komplette Klangbild: Ein kraftvoller, antreibender Drive, der in jeder Minute präsent ist. Ihr Stil entsteht durch eine Mischung aus schnellen und groovigen Melodien, wobei starke perkussive Elemente den Sound definieren. Ihre Sets sind gespickt mit hypnotischen Vocals und angereichert mit geschickt eingesetzten Clubbangern. Kat hält so eine fesselnde Spannung auf den Tanzflächen, die sie bespielt.

INTERVIEW:
1. Wie lange legst du nun schon auf und wie hast du es gelernt?

Strangerkat: Die ersten Berührungspunkte hatte ich durch meinen besten Freund im Jahr 2017. Dieses Hobby hat allerdings erst wieder im vergangenen Jahr Fahrt aufgenommen, als ich mich von vielen anderen FLINTAs dazu inspiriert und ermutigt gefühlt habe, meine Sets und Auftritte öffentlich zu machen.

2. Gibt es ein bestimmtes Event oder Moment an das/den du dich gern zurück erinnerst? 

S: Meinen ersten Club Gig in Berlin 2023.

3. Was wünscht du dir, sollte in der Clubszene anders laufen?

S: Ich würde mir wünschen, dass sich die Clubszene wieder mehr auf ihre Ursprünge zurückbesinnt und es wieder mehr um die Musik, anstelle von Followerzahlen und Selbstdarstellung geht.

4. Wie würdest du deinen Sound beschreiben?

S: Meine bevorzugten Stile sind Hardgroove und Techno. Dabei darf auch gerne mal ein hypnotic/catchy Vocal dabei sein. Zudem lege ich großen Wert darauf, dass meine Sets immer einen melodischen Drive behalten.

5. Was liegt dir neben dem Auflegen noch sehr am Herzen?

S: Feminismus, soziale Gerechtigkeit und ich habe ein Herz für fette Katzen.  

6. Wenn du ein Wort wärst, welches wäre das?

S: Rastlos

7. Musik machen bedeutet für dich…?

S: Musik machen bedeutet für mich, sich fallen zu lassen.

After she moved to Berlin, she became a label manager at the Berlin underground label Sys.Ex Records. Since then, she has performed at Tresor, HÖR, Humboldthain, and more.
