Founded by Playhouse masterminds Ata and the late Heiko M/S/O it was a Thursday club night that heavily featured house music as a prescription to the ongoing techno fever. Enamored with the US-American roots of it and all things deep, it not only presented the right records, but also their creators and protagonists.

We asked Ewan to make us a short promo mix and this came in, totalling 32 tracks and clocking in at 2 hours 24 minutes! It opens with the sound of Mark Hollis’s voice as a nice nod to Spirit of Eden and then veers from drone through Balearic, Compass Point ish funk, Psych-y stuff and ends with Krauty excursions and a smattering of New Wave Pop.

As the night dissolved into the first light of day, the dancefloor became a sanctuary of release. This set was recorded live during the Sunday sunrise session at Groovewell Vacation - a moment suspended between the intensity of the night and the quiet arrival of morning.

Deactivation through music is my practice of softening. It’s the art of guiding energy down gently, so the body can rest, the heart can open, and the mind can return to stillness. it's creating a space where movement turns inward, where rhythm becomes breath, and where sound holds us as we land.

May this recording bring you the same tenderness it carried that morning - a reminder that every ending is also a beginning, and that through music, we can always return to ourselves.
