First piece recorded on the PC.  It's a multitracked guitar jam I threw together while learning. 

First Thoughts

I love the idea of juxtaposition -- mixing things that don't seem to go together.  This was an attempt to take a heavier piece and meld it with a mellower middle jam section.  MIDI drum loops from off the web and guitar-octaver-bass and off the cuff leads, but it still makes for an interesting piece, I think.

Choices

Two guitar overdubs to a drum and bass jam from wikiloops ( http://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack.php?jamsession=11560 ).  Drums were recorded by user "focus5" and the bass was by "Dick", the wikiloops founder. I loved the base rhythm track and wanted to add some guitar -- I recorded two versions of guitar lead tracks and decided I liked both, so I used the clean one for the first half and the screamin' one for the second half.  Also the 9/8 rhythm made me add a little sample as a framing element at the beginning and end. :)

Wha Da Funk

Done during a two-day snow storm that left us snowed in. One of the first tracks with my own bass added, also.

Snow Day

With vocal and string samples from a 1936 radio romance, this has MIDI drum beats, a 'chill-meets-jam' vibe, and a range of rhythm and lead guitars.

Streak Of Moonlight

A slightly older track, solo to a basic beat loop, done when I first started messing around on the bass. Simple drone-like chord progression, but I like the guitar solos and the overall vibe.

Drone

Another piece in the "Forgotten Voices" collection. With bass, keys, and many guitars against MIDI drums and vocal samples from a 1930's radio romance, this might have a little too much rocking edge to be called "chill", but it's moody and still jams.

My Name Is Romance

Another in the "Forgotten Voices" series, this solo multi-tracked piece uses samples from a 1930s radio broadcast of Lily Pons doing "The Bell Song" aria from the 1882 Delibes opera, "Lakme", with added MIDI drums, bass, keys, and a lot of guitars.
