It had been several days since I had met anyone along the river.
The last light of the day gradually disappeared and I enjoyed the magnificent spectacle from my raft.

Looking down, I noticed strange streetlights on a wooden bridge leading to an old red big top.
Without hesitation, I grabbed my tape recorder and went into the tent.

There was no one inside when I settled there, except a tall guy with a microphone, standing on stage and singing a sort of scat.
