For fans of Batman: The Animated Series, the music is just as important as the art style. The dark, orchestral themes and sultry, jazzy character pieces are legendary. Now, Epic Toy Sound has delivered an entire original album, BTAS: Inspired By, designed as the ultimate soundtrack for your Gotham City creations.

The album cover itself, a deep-cut reference to the BTAS-style Jonah Hex, sets the tone perfectly. This is a love letter to the dark, gothic world of the show.

We listened to the full 8-track album, and here is our breakdown for all you toy photographers, stop-motion artists, and content creators.

The Vibe & Use Case for Your Content:
1. Gargoyle Perch

The Vibe: Dark, brooding, and atmospheric. This is the sound of a stakeout, with lonely orchestral swells over a tense, steady beat. It's pure "waiting in the shadows" music.

Use For: The perfect track for cinematic pans across your Gotham diorama, a hero shot of Batman brooding on a rooftop, or any scene building suspense.

2. I Am the Night

The Vibe: This is Batman. The track is dark, cinematic, and full of tragic, heroic weight. It's the sound of a vow made in an alleyway.

Use For: Your essential "main theme" for any video focused on Batman himself. Use it for character introductions, slow-motion action, or flashbacks.

3. She Kills Me

The Vibe: Instantly mischievous, quirky, and playful. The bouncy, noir-jazz theme and clarinet melody screams "Harley Quinn." It's fun, but with a clear layer of unhinged energy.

Use For: This is the ultimate Harley theme. Perfect for any content featuring her, her relationship with the Joker, or any other playful, unpredictable character.

4. The Cat and the Bat

The Vibe: A slow, slinky, and seductive noir-jazz track. This is the sound of a "cat and mouse" game played in the moonlight. It's mysterious and alluring.

Use For: The definitive soundtrack for any Catwoman content. Use it for stealth scenes, a figure review, or any video about her "will they/won't they" dynamic with Batman.

5. Touched by Seduction

The Vibe: A classic "femme fatale" anthem. This slow, bluesy jazz track is hypnotic and dangerous. You can almost smell the perfume.

Use For: An ideal theme for Poison Ivy. It's also perfect for any content involving seduction, mystery, or a character with hidden motives.

6. The Last Laugh

The Vibe: Absolute, manic chaos. The fast, oompah/polka beat and chaotic horns are 100% The Joker. It’s the sound of a funhouse turning deadly.

Use For: Any scene featuring The Joker. It’s perfect for fast-paced action, a "descent into madness" montage, or a reveal of his latest diabolical plan.

7. Maniacal

The Vibe: More Joker! This track continues the "circus music from hell" theme with a driving, frantic, and slightly goofy energy.

Use For: A great companion to "The Last Laugh." Use it for Joker's goons, a chase scene, or any content that needs a burst of manic, unsettling energy.

8. Gotham Undertones

The Vibe: Dark, industrial, and unsettling ambience. This isn't a theme; it's the sound of the city's dark underbelly.

Use For: An excellent audio bed for narration. Use it for establishing shots of Arkham Asylum, Crime Alley, or any dark, gritty location in your diorama.

Deriving from the German word Jäger, meaning Hunter, JAEGER is the first release in a series of orchestral instruments that will usher you into a new era of modern cinematic music. As composers, we constantly find ourselves chasing that next creative spark, but our short deadlines don’t always allow us the time to let inspiration hit. You have to simply apply fingers to keys and pour the music into your sequencer.

To overcome this, JAEGER was created by a team of industry veterans who set out on this endeavor with two, seemingly, simple goals:

* An incredible sound straight out of the box
* An incredibly user-friendly engine and interface

Before settling on the exact specs for the library, the guys received extensive feedback from a number of highly successful, working composers to ensure no stone was left unturned. The constant pressure and tight deadlines demands for libraries with easy load times and maximum flexibility for a quick workflow.

With all of that in mind, the orchestral parts of JAEGER contain individual sections for strings, brass, and percussion. Though the library is primarily focused on punchy, epic music (i.e. no woodwinds), it is not just designed to be loud; it is cinematic. JAEGER offers the following:

* Up to 6 morphing velocity layers.
* Up to 9 Random, No Repetition, Round Robin.
* Dynamic Pure Tuning for Strings & Brass, just like a real orchestra.
* Preserved Original Recording Levels.
* Non-Distance Compensated Mixes & Distance Compensated Mixes for Percussion, the best of both worlds.
* Separate Sections for Strings: 16 Violins, 10 Violas, 6 Celli, 4 Basses
* Separate Sections for Brass: 3 Trumpets, 6 Horns, 2 Tenor & 2 Bass Trombones, 2 Tubas.
* Expansive Percussion Section: Gran Cassa Ensemble, Taikos (Small), Taikos (Medium), Taikos (Large), Concert Tom Ensemble, Concert Snare (Low) Ensemble, Concert Snare (High) Ensemble, Sticks, Tam Tam, Piatti.

In true Audio Imperia fashion, we added more to the library than you’d normally expect. The orchestral sections are complemented by processed percussion mixes (by Decimator Drums producer Martin Hasseldam), an extensive sound design section, and most importantly, an incredibly unique vocal section featuring internationally renowned vocalist Merethe Soltvedt.

Merethe Soltvedt is an award-winning vocalist who has performed for composers such as Jeff Broadbent, Henry Lai, Tom Salta, Ivan Torrent and companies like Brand X, Two Steps From Hell, and Ghostwriter Music. A truly unique voice that will add a whole other dimension to your music.
