I was camping at Myall Park Botanic Gardens, Glenmorgan, Queensland, when a very heavy rain shower drenched my solar blanket. I leaned part of it against a small termite mound to elevate it. A few days later I moved it off the termite mound and discovered that termites had built up their mound and used the solar blanket as a roof. My removal had exposed the new tunnels. This was immediately exploited by the local black ants, and a battle ensued. I captured the sound of the angry termites with a tent peg with an AKGC411 contact mic attached. Just before the dawn chorus kicked off, a squirrel glider and a barking owl dueted, backed by a distant rooster, eastern yellow robin, kookaburras, and fairywrens. Zoom F1, PUI mic capsules.

Birds include: Eastern Whipbird, Golden Whistler, Pied Currawong, Torresian Crow (vocalisations, wingbeats, and footsteps on a tin roof), Lewin's Honeyeater, Crimson Rosella, Scrub Turkey (vocalisations and footsteps), Paradise Riflebird, Australian Magpie, and lots of little twittery things.

Red Rock Gorge Camp Ground in Sundown National Park, Queensland, beside the small dam at the Northern end, around midnight. Zoom F6, Rode NT55-MP with cardioid capsules, Rycote BBGs with wind jammers, ORTF. Three species of frog can be heard calling. I think they are: Striped Marsh Frog (Limnodynastes peronii, pok, ..., pok, ....), Smooth Toadlet (Uperoleia laevigata, creeek), and Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog (Litoria fallax, buzz like running a nail down a comb).
