String Machine 2 entailed the commissioning of new recorded works for stringed instruments from Donal Lunny and Leopold Hurt. These works were then used as the sole source material for digital re-compositions by David Dohohoe & Eamonn Doyle and Stephan Mathieu. All sounds in the re-compositions were generated exclusively from the bouzouki and zither using various digital processes.
