The mid-eighties, Madrid. The Spanish capital is teeming under the grip of a musical explosion the likes of which has never been seen before. In the midst of that rabid swirl, a teenager, unknown and unassuming, enters a record shop to blow his savings on an album, Standing on a Beach, by The Cure. Little did he know that this was to be his first step on the long and difficult path to becoming one of the country’s essential djs.

Beginning as a passion for the harder shades of techno music, Quail [ Animal Farm ] was born into the Glasgow clubbing scene 14 years ago. 
The now established clubbing institution found its big break by hosting their very first Sub Club event in 2009, booking a then little-known artist on a Monday night, Ben Klock. This inaugural event was a wild success, which laid the groundwork for a steady succession of events catapulting the Animal Farm brand into the global techno limelight, booking acts such as Rodhad, Kobosil, Cleric, Blawan, DVS1 Function, Marcell Dettmann, and Dax J, just to name a few from their extensive archive of past performers. 
At the helm of this wild success has been Quail, who has supported swathes of the global techno elite, and more than carved out his own space as a respected DJ in his home city and much further afield.

Florian Meindl is a multi-talented artist, who is renowned for his technical prowess. Producing for over 15 years, Florian has become known for his diverse, powerful Techno productions, live performances and DJ sets.
2006 saw the inception of Florian’s label FLASH Recordings. The imprint showcases Florian’s musical vision, reflects his taste and gives him tracks for his DJ Mixes. A platform for artists that Florian likes, FLASH has had over 180 releases already including tracks and remixes from Radio Slave, Sigha, Jeroen Search, Stephan Bodzin, Lucy, Subjected, Black Asteroid, Jamie Anderson, Flug, STRISC., Black Lotus, Anml Mthr...
In February 2019 Florian released his 4th solo album "Nonlinear Times" which is another sonic proof of Florian being able to become one with his studio. This time merging analog sound creation with digital techniques to combine the best of both worlds. Florian's countless gigs have become an extraordinary experience by continually pushing the boundaries of combining true live performance on the modular synth with DJing. A unique raw energy and response to the audience marks the signature sound of his performance. 
His live appearance for Boiler Room TV in Funkhaus Berlin 2018 with 3 modular synth live performers, who never met before, marked another milestone in his career as a live act and showcased his ability to improvise on electronic instruments in an exciting live jamsession. 
As a DJ, live performer, studio producer and sound designer, Florian has over the years established an impressive producing base for himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex with an exciting hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analogue mixing desk as well as classic machines like Roland 909, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren’t possible.

Florian Meindl - Tech Clubbers Podcast #130

Hyperactive returns to Northern Parallels with a track that chugs and snaps through the darkness. Acid pads reverberate tumble over a swinging and unrelenting kick. Growing layers of rhythmic accents dodge in and out while the synth grows busier and more frantic.

Gabriella Vergilov's Natural Remix breaths fiery soul into the beating heart. A bare melody set this track apart from the previous instrumental pieces. The melody is provided by undulating synth lines that hover over a doubled up kick. Gabriella provides the vocals and they are as natural as the title implies.

Doubt makes his debut on Northern Parallels with previous released music on DVS1's Mistress Recordings imprint. Doubt provides a stripped down version to reveal a chrome dipped skeleton. Dry and sparse percussion, the mix takes on the mood of a mad scientist's laboratory.

Jason Patrick adds his own diverse interpretation with blending atmospheric synth stabs, seamless percussive movement, streamlined by haunting vocals riffs.

Label boss, Mike Derer wraps up the EP with a remix maintaining the feel of the original and also adding dubbed out synth line. The track launches when the percussion take over an already rollicking kick. Mike's stripped down sound reflects the mind of the machine and blares its steely emotions.

Initially inspired by the UK’s underground bass scene, Tokyo born Risa Taniguchi has developed her own techno and electronic sounds that incorporate influences from these UK & European sounds as well as techno’s long and rich musical tapestry.

Having racked up notable releases for the likes of Redrum Music, Second State and Suara, Taniguchi returns to Kneaded Pains after appearances on the label’s KPAINS albums with her own full EP for Dense & Pika’s label.

Purposeful and pounding acid vibes makeup the title track ‘Rockim’, and continue into ‘Enclozed’, as Taniguchi’s psychedelic vocal refrains zip around a minimal techno production.  Chattering hi-hats establish the forward motion of ‘Wobbel’, another blazing cut that wraps up this effortless EP.
