Lowkey and Kardinal are french-based artists who have left their marks on lots of big labels around the world and together they appear as one of the most remarkable duos on the latest techno-scene! They show up with their new track 'Pentadrone' which gets reworked by the mexican-based artist, sound-designer and co-founder of Vector Functions Records - Dig-it, and the amercian techno-disciple and founder of Capital Techno Recordings Steel Grooves!

'Pentadrone' takes off with a massive wavelike bassline, and starts to burst forward from the beginning! A remarkable rave-synth which the track circles around slowly surfaces, while propelling percussive grooves evolve quickly and ring in the action. The main-theme blossoms up and gains support by an additional synth before submerging again. A clap reinforces the kick and bright rides add tension, while the theme rises further and gets one in the right mood for a massive break! Well placed snares bang around and delayed dark vocal-fragments boost the energy before 'Pentadrone' drops again and starts to submerge gently in the dark.

Steel Grooves rework starts with driving percussions and snappy hihats which get backed-up by open hats and a backing-synth quite soon. The tracks undertone gains support by the rave-tool known from the original which floats front and back. Various of long reverbed effects clink around and get reinforced by snarefires and tom-structures at the right moment, while reverbed female vocal-fragments come to light! 

Dig-it restructures 'Pentadrone' and boils it down with some sub-action and fresh groove-accentuations! Top-percussions stab forward stoical, and an adorable hi-hat structure reinforces the pumpin' character. An electrifying backing-pad swells up and a dark one-note synth supports the tracks roots, before the well known rave-synth appears on the scene! Weird effects add an organic quality while dimmed rimshots and bright rides put some energy into the place, before Dig-it's rework of 'Pentadrone' opens up in the break and drifts dropward to ring in the action again!

In conclusion this release comes along as a set of three forward-orientated peaktime tracks and offers a great package of underground techno music!

We are happy to present Misoo from italy, who is known for his versatile techno productions. After his huge remix for Marc Troit’s ’1210 Feeling’ he shows up again on Drowne Records with his ’Red Lights’ EP. Coming to light with two original tracks and two remixes by the german techno-stalwart Krenzlin & the austrian techno-mistress Verona Kramer, this release covers many facets of techno. 

The title track 'Red Lights' comes up with a short intro, before a sweet offbeat-accentuated groove predetermines the tracks direction. Piercing one-note synthstabs and warm strings reinforce the tracks melodic character and create an uplifting mood! Well placed snarefires make tension, and bright rides enlighten the tracks structure, while classy cowbells remind on days which have been long gone by, but not forgotten! 

Follow-up ’Transfer’ starts with bulbous kickdrums, a tonal bassline and driving low percs, which lay the foundation for a unique techno track. Sharp hihats chop an offbeat-accentuation and additional tops start layering to tighten ’Transfer’, while powerful crashes and rides strike at the right time! Propelling percussions back-up the groove while electrifying synths break through the soundscape and bristle with energy before submerging again. 

Krenzlin , who is deeply rooted into the infamous Tresor/Berlin, boils it down with his conceptual 909 rework of ’Red Lights’, and takes no prisoners. His rework storms ahead right from the beginning and uses the originals strings and synths to transfer the uplifting mood very well! Tribal percussions clank back and forth while the beloved 909 ride bristles with energy, and confirms Krenzlin’s re-definition as a tune to blow the roof off! 

Last but not least, Krenzlin teamed up with Verona Kramer to put hands on Misoo’s ’Transfer’ too. Their remix deploys powerful groove-accentuations and organic percussions alongside nerve-wrecking rhythms. The electrifying synths, known from the original, shove themselves in the foreground and push the excitement to the max, before the remix detonates again! 

In conclusion the 'Red Lights EP' comes along as a versatile release for the peaktime hours, and represents Drowne Records love for the complexity of underground techno music. It reaches from melodic techno to unforgivingly hard-hitting rhythms, and leaves space for different moods too!

Born and raised in Mexico, Ricardo Garduno, is no stranger to the global Techno underworld. Besides running his successful Techno imprint, Illegal Alien Records, he’s had numerous successful productions on some of the most reputable Techno labels around the world. Now he appears on Drowne Records for the second time with his 'Textures EP'. Beside two wicked originals, the dutch phenomenon Keith Carnal put hands on the title track, and created a mesmerizing piece of techno!

Taking off with a cavernous bassdrum, crisp stakkato-hats and a clear offbeat definition, 'Textures' gains weight constantly, while an apocalyptic grumble and twisted synth patterns sneak upon the scene. A warm melody takes control and breaks up the fog of darkness, while electrifying synth textures reinforce the threatening undertone. Propelling percussions underline the tracks forward-orientation and squeaky bleeps take a back seat as a constant whereas 'Textures' mutates steadily!

'Mind Mover' emerges with a distorted kickdrum and a decent offbeat-suggestion while a rumbling bassline points out another stomper! Transforming metallic percussions arise out of the dust and hypnotic synths create a simple mood which leaves space to work with. Claps make tension at the right time and impelling hihats reinforce 'Mind Mover's seething character!

Keith Carnal boils it down with his massive rework of 'Textures' and transports out the originals essence perfectly! Taking off with tom-emphasised bassdrums, high-frequency claves and well structured background echoes, marvellous hihats concrete the driving groove very soon. Multiple synth-constructs dig themselves out of the swirling background and raise the energy constantly! A broad range of dub-delays offers a lot of organic quality and the menacing atmosphere leaves you drowned in places where time doesn’t matter!

Ricardo Garduno - Textures (Keith Carnal Remix)

We are happy to present the dj, producer, and co-labelhead of 'Vector Function Records' Fixon, who is known as one of mexicos most reputable techno artists. His 'X03X06' EP comes along with two remixes by berlin based techno-proponent Ixel and RVDE, a quite new duo from italy who exercise the idea of presenting techno with no holds barred!

Taking off with a dirty kickdrum and stabbing low-percussions, 'X03' shows itself as gloomy stomper! The main-synth forms a hypnotic melody, before high-pitched percussions pan around and lay the foundation for a raw top structure. A second synth stabs stoic forward and supports the menacing mood, while spherical noises steam through Fixon's 'X03'!

Showing up with eroded kickdrums, distorted percussions and a driving bassline, snappy hihats concrete the forward-orientation of 'X06' very soon. Bright shakers lay the foundation for a siren which rises towards the drop and flashes trought the dust throughout the track. Breathed noises and a whirling pad make tension in the background, while snare structures underpin the energizing atmosphere! 

Taking off with muffled kickdrums and propelling percussions, a classy hi-hats appears on the scene quite soon. A futuristic, evolving synth structure digs itself out, when claps rise before open hihats reinforce the tops. In conclusion berlin-based Ixel’s rework of ‚X06’ is a hypnotizing piece of contemporary techno which works with a paranoid mood to keep the floor boiling!

RVDE’s re-definition of ‚X03‘ bursts in with hardcore kickdrums and vandalized percussions and takes no prisoners! Snappy hi-hats support the soundscape before the track redeems itself to elevate an obsessive acid synth with a rough approach. Wide reverbed effects amplify the industrial atmosphere and contribute their part of pointing out that RVDE is producing both - functional and experimental techno without compromises!

After all Fixon’s 'X03X06' EP comes along as a versatile release and represents the deeper & dustier spheres of underground techno. I reaches from hypnotic, energizing techno to rude and distorted vibes, and illustrates the harsher facets of underground techno music!

Analog bleeps press forward and a single snare concretes the tracks hypnotic simplicity. The theme dives front and back and the sharp offbeat-accentuation gets backed up by propelling hi-hat staccatos for maximum impact! 

Follow-up 'Nervepusher B' takes off with a mighty beatstructure, crackling noises and stoic synthstabs, which form the tracks hypnotizing theme. Rattling percussions make tension at the right time, while the main-synths dig itself out of the dark further and further to climax at the break!

We are happy to welcome the colombian techno-defender 'John V', who joins our forces with three fierce originals and a powerful rework by the italian 'Sonntag Morgen' mastermind 'MTD', bundled as the 'The Visitor' EP. Coming to light with hypnotic patterns and dusty soundscapes, this release represents straight underground techno for the darkest minds!

Opening the release, the title track 'The Visitors' invades the floor with thumping kickdrums and propelling percussions pointing out that John V's definition of techno is definitely bound forward. Sluggish offbeat-hihats lay the foundation for a snappy hihat, while the theme, which consists of repetitive, unconventional synthstabs rises up and works throughout! An impelling baseline underpins the tracks invading character and bright rides add tension at the right time!

Follow-up ‘Hidden’ takes off upfront with mighty bassdrums, background noises, and rattling percussions diggin' themselves through the dust. The theme, which the track circles around appears very soon and consists of ancient-seeming synths forming an apocalyptic melody. Snappy hihats get backup by propelling top structures and show up 'Hidden's' forward-facing vibe, before flashy rides concrete its stomping character.

'Arrival' comes up with dirt-soaked bassdrums and crackling background distortions, forming a forward-orientated groove. Italian techno-warlock 'MTD' put hands on 'The Arrival' and stripped the original down the the bone. Starting with adorable stompin' kicks and an assertive bassline, the track gains weight very fast. Subtle offbeat accentuations and hypnotic bleeps appear on the scene and create a straitened atmosphere before crunchy hihats lay the foundation for the groove! Reverbed claps smear through the fog of darkness and squealing synths whirl all over, adding a lot of hypnotic quality to MTD's stunning rework!

We are happy to present the colombian techno-advocates John V and Uron, who teamed up to unleash the Titan EP on the austrian techno label Drowne Records! The main ­ characteristics of this release can be described as raw and repetitive underground techno which always keeps an eye on the dancefloor.


Kickin' off the EP, 'Febe' comes along as an intro tool and emerges out of the depths with ethereal choirs whispering in the dark. Didgeridoo-like pads are gently interwoven and fight for dominance, while chirping percussions sparkle all over the soundscapes!

Follow-up and likewise titletrack 'Titan' starts ruthless and the rumbling bassline sets the course to another stomper! Repetitive, acid-bathed bleeps sneak on the scene and point out the tracks hypnotic suction. Filtered shakers rattle along, before sharp offbeat hihats and jackin' claps tighten the groove-structure!

For the first remix the austrian techno-flagship Sutter Cane teamed up with Dimitar Georgiev and put hands on 'Titan'. The rework attends with punchy bassdrums and lush offbeat-hihats layered over a rattling top-structure while the repetitive bleep-workout, known from the original, creates the right amount of tension!

The uprising frenchman Clement Landrau who is known for his hypnotic and melancholic productions joined forces and restructured the titletrack twice! The regular rewritten version takes off with bulbous kickdrums and a brooding atmosphere followed by filtered hihats. The claustrophobic, transformed synth which appears on the scene captures 'Titan's confronting mood perfect and prefaces the break, where the game changes!

The abstract rewritten version focuses itself on re-creating the mood and is great track to keep the floor boiling whilst getting down the pressure! The floating pad which is backed up by bizarre textures forms a dystopian melody and sets a basis for the atmosphere the rework circles around. The synth, known from the original shoves itself back and forth and a breakbeat structure concretes the direction once and for all!

Finally the 'Titan EP' comes along as a quite aggressive release and represents the artists and the labels love for pure underground techno. I reaches from glistening soundscapes to filthy and forward orientated techno, without forgetting to leave space for sound experimentations!
