Strøm Mixx 026 - TSUNIMAN

Enotea is a musician, writer and filmmaker based in Berlin. They have made two albums and several EPs (under aliases like Teiid and Kid Enotea). Their latest album, In The Light Room was released on the independent label InterCourse and is about “waves and walls, and the waves on walls insisting on freedom.” Their sound is in constant flux as made apparent by the tracklist.

Strøm Mixx 027 - Enotea

Papa Marni’s involvement in the Copenhagen scene goes way back. He was a rapper in the late 80’s and early 90’s, before finding his way behind the decks in ’97. At first it was all about the sounds of House, Disco, Funk and Afro, until Reggae hit him. He began spinning records as part of Rootsman Hi-Fi and The Sweet Soul Rocking Crew, as well as running Dread Baldhead Soundsystem alongside local heavyweight speaker builder Francis Mboya.

Although Papa Marni is transitioning from DJ’ing to producing Dub and Electro music in his home studio, he still maintains a massive record collection full of rare cuts, unreleased dubs and bespoke dubplates. Tune your system deep, and dive in to a dub-siren powered 2 hour tribute to the late great Jah Shaka.

Coming from an upbringing filled with drums and music, Copenhagen based Bjarke Høver is a dedicated electronic music digger. Entering the scene with electro-inspired duo Deck Riders  he quickly made an impression on the city’s electronic club & festival scene. Growing up in Jutland and digging his way through graffiti and skate movie soundtracks, Kristian Andersen has since an early age been invested in underground music, culture and communities. For more than a decade Kristian Andersen has been a key figure in the Copenhagen scene, playing, organising and promoting a wide range of electronic music. From the hard tek influenced Lost 2 Reality party series and the DIY psytrance festival SEISMO, to cutesy bar gigs, Kristian Andersen wears many hats. 

This mix is 100 minutes of hypnotising, fun and happy tunes inspired by a set he played earlier this year at the Strøm Festival at the rooftop sound system party at ALICE.

Drum’n’bass and dancehall live from Trans Metro Express 2024.

This month’s mix features a throwback to last summer and Strøm Festival’s flagship: Trans Metro Express. While the packed and sweaty metro train was thumping through the cityscape, four acts performed custom-made livesets created especially for the journey. Alongside Ryong, dj g2g, Gavnlig, Vilde Tuv and DJ IBON, Binnie Smalls played a hot set which is now available for playback. 

Binnie Smalls is a Swedish producer & DJ based in Stockholm. 
Since she started in 2017 she has  DJ-ed in multiple cities all over Sweden as well as in New York, Jamaica, London, Portugal, Germany, Norway and Iceland, and done multiple guest radio mixes both nationally and internationally. She has released original songs & official remixes with artists such as Sean Paul, Stylo G, Ward 21, Gappy Ranks, Agent Sasco, Badda General, Noah Powa, Rekall and Marcy Chin, and have been recording songs in the legendary Bob Marley studio ’Tuff Gong’ and in the Big Yard studio.

ADEXIA (she/her) is a Danish DJ and producer, promoter and founder of the Copenhagen based DJ-collective Dakke Dolls with whom she promotes parties all over Copenhagen. 
Sonically the inspiration originates from new realms of experimentation with sound. An interest in sound design, electronic music and technology guides ADEXIA through the unfathomable scale of existence. She’s pushing for cultural progression and makes it clear that experimental
soundscapes are the future. Confused by the complexity of the world we live in, ADEXIA still manages to let her music do the talking (however, we did manage to get her onboard for an actual chat)

A 100% production mix, recorded live at this year’s Trans Metro Express. 

Blending heavy, syncopated drums, and yearning vocal-infused production, the versatile Malmö-based musician moves within the framework of dubstep while keeping things open and evolving.
With DJ appearances on Rinse France, Subtle Radio, and releases on labels like Bait and the Paris-based De la… je l’espère, their sound has reached audiences across Sweden and Europe. As a co-founder of the Melt crew and part of FNGRLCKN, Ekaliff has played a key role in Malmö’s bass scene through club nights and collaborations and continues to push it forward with their bass label Feeler Rec, home for weight and personality.

After a full day of sound system music at Freetown Christiania, Om Unit played a two-hour closing set. Not only was it a masterclass journey through his sound; it was a step by step demonstration of how to reset a vibe and build it back up. With a refined sense of how to scale and intensify a musical storyline, this set exemplifies how some DJ’s have that special gift of feeling the vibe. I femte rendering af vores Strøm Mixx-serie er det ingen ringere end @Ras-Money, også kendt som Raske Penge, der inviterer dig til at splatte ud i selskab med ham. Ras har ladet sig inspirere af sidste måneds Klaus Schønning-samtale, som er udgangspunktet tematisk for hans mix.

Ras er kendt som DJ, rapper, sangskriver, forfatter, radiovært, journalist, filmskaber, generel legende i den musikalske undergrund såvel som overgrund herhjemme, og så er han også kurator for os i Strøm.
