Strobe Mix 01 - David Corrigan

Next up on our mixtape series is Hamish.

Belfast based Hamish is a 27 year old industrial techno DJ, with his love of post-rock and black metal seeping in to his set, creating a dark, atmospheric and heavy range of industrial techno tunes.

Resident for both Wonderlust and Korova in Belfast, he draws inspiration from the likes of Klangkunstler, Perc, Paula Temple and the wider European industrial scene.

He was making waves in Belfast pre-covid supporting a range of heavy weights including DJ Rush, Bas Mooy, Clouds, Falhaber, Tim Tama and Meadbh O'Connor. Since the re-opening of the clubs Hamish has shared the stage with the likes of JKS and Gabber Eleganza.

We are delighted to feature Belfast native Nez to our Mixtape series. Anyone who is into the Irish techno scene knows that Nez needs no introduction.

Nez is an obsessive vinyl collector, DJ and lover of all genres of electronic music specializing in techno, electro, acid and jungle. He started djing around the Belfast scene in 1998 and earned himself his first resident DJ spot at the Evolution nights in the legendary Vico’s Club.  Since then he has co-promoted De-Vice in Leeds, Grub with Boxctutter, Pressure, Scope, Beat BBQ and held down a residency DSNT for 10 years and is a regular performer for AVA Festival, played all the major clubs up and down Ireland and has djed all over Europe sharing the stage warming up for a who's who of electronic music, too many names to mention.  
The highlights of his career so far was playing a set for the infamous AVA Boiler Room and a closing set in Tresor Berlin.  Currently he is co promoter of a new night Coda  and is label boss Computer Controlled.

Strobe Mix 04 - NEZ

For the 5th installment of our mix series we have invited up and coming DJ/Producer Marela to feature.

Marela is a young electronic producer from the south east of Ireland. Marela curated his alias in 2020 to present himself to the electronic scene with some formality.

Over the the last 2 years Marela has been dipping into different styles of techno to try shape a unique sound that is different from everything that popular right now.

In late 2020 Marela caught the attention of Irish techno heavyweight Rebūke, who played one of Marela’s tracks on his ‘Ultimate Distortion’ guest mix on Alan Fitzpatrick’s WE ARE THE BRAVE radio show. This has led to multiple back and forths with Rebūke along with multiple tracks being supported thanks to the RRC and in 2021 Marela was invited up to Monroe’s in Galway, to support Rebūke himself.

About the mix:
The mix contains tracks from some of his favourite artists, some tracks that are hot right now and there’s some unreleased originals in there too to spice it up.

OCTOPUS – ARCANE – TRONIC - DRUMCODE 
LOCO & JAM are Northern Irish based Techno duo made up of Lloyd Reid and James Peoples. Formed in 
2007 they have gone from strength to strength playing clubs and festivals worldwide.
2009 was the first break for Loco & Jam as it seen their remix of Henry Von Propaganda on Fergies 
Rekluse imprint made its way on to Carl Cox’s Space Ibiza compilation and was also featured as his 
Global Warmer Track of the Week on his Global Radio Show which had over 10 million listeners 
worldwide.
Throughout their 15 years rise the guys have been killing the beatport Techno charts and now have a 
healthy CV with a list of Productions and Remixes on major labels such as Adam Beyers Drumcode, 
Christian Smiths Tronic Music, Coyu’s Suara, Sian’s Octopus Recordings, Eli Browns Arcane, Chus & 
Ceballos Stereo Productions, Monika Kruse’s Terminal M, Green Velvet’s Relief Records, Marco Bailey’s 
MB Elektronics, Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records to name but a few.
A notable remix for them in 2016 was being asked to remix Green Velvet Flash which is without doubt 
one of the biggest Techno Records of all time.. Loco & Jam’s Productions have been getting massive 
support from some of the worlds biggest DJs including Adam Beyer, Technasia, Sharam, Pan-Pot, Carl 
Cox, Carl Craig, Green Velvet, Solomun, Hot Since 82 and many more A-Lists artists.

Strobe Mix 06 - Loco & Jam

For the 7th installment of our mixtape series we have invited Irish music producer and qualified sound engineer Mark Greene to feature. 

After completing his training in the Sound Training Centre in Dublin under Will Kinsella (Hybrasil), Mark began signing some early tracks to various labels in Europe. Quite soon Mark was releasing tracks on well established labels like Bush Records, Naked Lunch, Elektrax and Carl Cox’ longstanding imprint Intec Digital. 

A string of popular releases allowed Mark to play all over Europe with regular trips to Amsterdam in particular for the annual ADE each Autumn.

An avid drummer as a child, Mark has always had an affinity for heavy kickdrums in his tracks. As the years have gone by his productions have gained some bpms and Mark’s music is now finding its way into the hands of DJs at the forefront of the industrial techno scene.

Rebekah, I Hate Models, Theo Nasa, Chris Liebing, D.A.V.E. The Drummer and more are supporting his productions of late, particularly his recent tracks on his new label DORCHA Records - meaning ‘dark’ in the Irish language.

Mark launched DORCHA Records in 2020 to circumnavigate the typical months-long wait to release on other labels. The label is a place for Mark to release tracks on his own schedule and experiment with various different styles and creative approaches. 

The aim of the label is to identify new artists and build a small roster to carry the DORCHA flag.

Each month you can tune into Mark’s Progress Radio show for one hour of unreleased music from himself and some of the best producers in techno. Broadcasting on several stations around the world, the show will reach the 100 episode milestone in 2022.

Up next on our mixtape series in Belfast born Techno DJ - BLARK

DJing in his hometown of Belfast for close to 30 years, Blark AKA Blacky.  Seeing Carl Cox play at the legendary Vengeance 2 in the 1990s was where he first got bitten by the rave bug and hasn't looked back since. 

In more recent times, Blark has warmed up for some of the biggest names in techno and played at festivals like Burning Man, Life Festival and AVA in Belfast. He’s also played in clubs all over Europe, including 2 lengthy stay in Ibiza, Griessmuehle in Berlin and Corsica Studios in London.

Currently Resident and Co founder of  Belfast Techno night CODA.

Strobe Mix 13 - BLARK

Coutts / Gordon Coutts is a DJ / Producer from Northern Ireland, who has been DJing for over 25 years, playing at events all across the UK and Ireland and beyond, including Godskitchen, Planet Love and Ibiza and headline sets at many events.

He made his name on the production front in the mid 2000's onwards with his distinctive brand of Tech-Trance, with a string of sucessful releases on labels such as Vandit, Spinnin, Fraction, Aria, Tangled Audio and many more.

In recent years he has embraced his Techno oriented side side and has been releasing and playing as 'Coutts', with releases on Hydraulix, Refined Format, Physical Techno Recordings, Mechanikal, Pure Dope Digital and White Line Music amongst many more.

Gordon is also A&R for Keep On Techno Records, taking on the role in 2022 after being a core artist on the label.

Floody, 23 years old is an up and coming DJ and music producer from Dublin, having started is DJ career in November 2023 he has gone onto playing at nightclubs such as Wigwam, The grand social and As above So below in Dublin as well as private events around the country.

Having quickly made himself a name in the industry he has went on to make his festival debut @temptationfestival

Although he plays many different styles and can be quite diverse his sets mostly consist of fast hard driven techno aswell euphoric trance.

Floody is all about high energy from start to Finish and we can’t wait to have him !

We are back with our first podcast of 2025 this time featuring local techno artist SOB.

SOB is an up and coming DJ and producer known for his high-energy tracks. With his tracks already supported by key figures in the scene such as I Hate Models, Vendex, Azyr, and Riot Code. 

Expect pulsating rhythms and hard-hitting basslines that keep you moving from start to finish. This latest mix seamlessly blends the relentless power of schranz with the infectious groove of techno.

Born in Wroclaw, Poland, he took his first steps in the legendary Wagon, which at that time was known for underground UK Acid Techno, led by “Norf” and his “This is UK Style” parties. 

In 2005, he moved to Belfast, where he played with the “Deviant Sound System” crew and the legendary “Bass From the Attic.” Olo also participated in the Tetris Safari Festival, where he played alongside A.P and Jeff Amadeus. 

 At the same time, he was involved in the “Basement Trip” series of events, featuring genres such as Drum & Bass, Breakz, Dubstep, Hip-Hop, and Funk. His mixes are heavily low-end oriented, with hypnotic synths and minimal accents. Perhaps this is a reflection of his musical acumen, as he always listens to musical styles like Detroit/Minimal (Tresor) and UK Hard and Acid Techno. Olo claims that his heart beats to the rhythm of Techno and his soul belongs to Hip-Hop, often playing on vinyl and not afraid to add scratch elements. Currently, he is focused on organizing a series of events called "Prime Escape." As a sound engineer, he concentrates on building a sound system, as he believes that sound quality is crucial at each event, allowing listeners and DJs alike to enjoy the maximum musical message.

Strobe Mix 19 - Olo

Digital Motion AKA Ben Jenkins & Conor Jordan are a DJ & Producer duo from the outskirts of Belfast. Digital Motion took their first step into the Electronic Music scene in 2016 hosting their own Underground Forest Parties in the Carrickfergus area with great success.

In 2018, they joined North Coast Based crew Rise Events where they held a residency untill late 2019 when COVID-19 hit. During the pandemic they honed in their production skills and have been producing tracks ever since.

In 2022 they joined forces with Belfast Based events crew Exile Trax. Since then they have performed alongside Azyr, Indecorum, and Shannen Blessing to name a few. Blurring the lines between hardgroove and hard techno, these lads love a good party and have been in the scene for years, both on the dancefloor and behind the decks.

Dominating the South of Irelands Hard Techno production scene -  Luke & Flex are bringing the heat with this 60 minute mix.
With their assertive style of high energy production, they also like to go deep depending on the circumstances.
While rising label ITM Recordings slots itself nicely into the top 100 Hard Techno labels worldwide in its first year, these guys still find time to push their sound and showcase their talent.

On this months mixtape we have Irish DJ/Producer REOSC.

He delivers a unique blend of techno ready for the dance floors of modern times.

In 2023 he was nominated by HOTPRESS Magazine as ones of Irelands Top 10 Irish electronic music artists.

REOSC also holds a radio show residency at the one and only 313.fm Detroit.

Next up for our mixtape series is scene veteran Laynee! With 27 years experience, she aims to play an ecclectic mix of new & classic tunes to get your feet moving. Laynee has played at many venues including Hangar, Opium, The Guinness Storehouse, The Button Factory, The Soundhouse & Wiley Fox & Berlin/Pawn Shop. She has supported major acts such as 808 State, Shades Of Rhythm, Joey Beltram, Billy Nasty, Leeroy (Prodigy), Mr C, Judge Jules, Anne Savage, Capella, Danny Gould, K-Klass & Rozalla amongst others. She has played Techno sets at MASS & Day of the Dead festivals & recently supported deck wizard Argy in Soho, Dublin. Laynee hosts her own monthly show called ‘Vibrations’ on Phever.ie and a weekly show on Mondays on Biggest Disco Radio called ‘Spektrum’. Currently she holds residencies with the Flashback, Re-Jen & Soberbeats collectives & has played 4 hour House sets in The Wiley Fox & Izakaya Basement bar in Dublin City.
