"For this mix we were feeling it was important to really dig in the crates and pull out some unique offerings. Knowing that this mix would likely be suited more for listening, we extended soundscapes and transitions for elongated atmospheres. We wanted to play quite a bit with different narratives so there are switches that emerge during courses of the set that reset the vibe and refocus the listener. Towards the latter part of the mix, we ride the energy to a higher and more intense place driving all the way to the end with an abrupt and chaotic ending…as if the police just showed up. BTT SXX is a collaborative queer-focused sound and dance project between artists and life partners Christo and Eric Mason. Together they have been dj’ing and performing in queer-spaces for over two decades. Their combined open-format sound creates a dance floor experience that can range from unbridled euphoria, ecstatic dance and joy to rolling around on the floor in a sweaty, smelly early morning pleasure dungeon licking someone’s boots. Their sets reference 90’s rave and trance, afro-house, ghetto tech, PC music, pop, hip-hop, jakmusic, nudisco, hard groove, minimal, techno afters, breaks, and diva tech, and indie dance.
