I've always enjoyed ambient music and ASMR so I decided to experiment with sounds. I feel that ambient music is very similar to abstract art, so basically this whole process was me mixing sounds together that I thought would sound good.

We went to eat at a small, unmarked restaurant on the suggestion of our hostel worker while in Tirana, Albania. There was a group of 5 Albanian patrons who would randomly break out into song, some making drum sounds with their mouths, others making guitar sounds while playing air guitar. They kept going, getting louder and louder until the woman who worked here came out to shush them. They quieted down only for a moment until breaking out into song again.

While in the small country of Montenegro, we rented a car. Not wanting to spend unnecessary money, we slept in the car while we had it and listened to bats chirping as we fell asleep

STRSTF x Mozayik - Water World

It's been a long time since I seriously used my guitar to write a song. After getting inspired by artists like FKJ and Tom Misch, I picked my guitar back up and wrote this

ALSO!  A bird started jamming with me while I was writing the middle portion of this song. I had the piano piece on loop trying to add stuff and I noticed one of the birds outside my window was chirping along to the beat. I stuck my mic out the window, played the song back on my speakers, hit record, got him to start singing, then hit mute on the track while still recording to snag those sweet bird chirps!!

Currents

After Thundercat's "Drunk" came out, I became very inspired to give my bass more love. All the "guitar-like" sounds you hear here, come from my bass guitar.

I recorded all this last year and it took me ages to give it a decent mix. Here it is finally

No Windows

When I wrote this I was listening to dudes like Yussef Dayes, Nate Smith, Takuya Kuroda, and Xploding Plastix. I loved their hectic, complex jazz drum beats. I used Andreas Klein's samples up on Converse Sample Library to draw in the drum track and played the rest myself

Did this all with my voice and hands! Been loving using loop pedals to quickly jot down ideas. The loop pedal and mic also allows for more randomness and experimentation than when I'm sitting down with a guitar
