A MPC beat,  a voice sample and an inspiration of Ben laid the foundations for this title. An inspiration coming straight from Ghana, of course, since as a producer of the legendary albums of Pat Thomas and Ebo Taylor, Ben is a great connoisseur of this West African country music. This skeleton was built in two stages, first at home in Ibiza and then reinforced with brass power and the hypnotic guitar of Sékou Kouyaté who is Guinean. With its dancefloor signature, I bet that if DJs had to choose a track from this album to play at night, that one would be in the top 3.

Initially Guts idea was a return to his basics of beatmaker,a solo work with samplers and sequencing. But he  finally put it back below his stack of ideas for  an album radically different from the previous ones. Experimental, sunny, which would explore all these vibrations from the southern hemisphere that Guts has been collecting for years while practicing in his passion for diggin'. The ones with whom he builds his DJ sets, those he patiently collected on the five volumes of his compilations series Beach Diggin'. An Afro-tropical album.

The new album of Guts "Philantropiques" will be out the 29th of march on Heavenly Sweetness.

Fair Nick Stars were active in the late ‘70s in Guadeloupe and across the French Caribbean, recording several albums for Gilles Sala’s consistently tough Capriccio label. The band evolved from the famous Orchestre Fairness Jazz led by the legendary Roger Fanfant and included various members of the Fanfant family as well as renowned guitarist Max Labor. ‘Arrete Mal Parlé’ is taken from their first album and adds a Latin touch to a heavy cadence beat – a huge track at Sofrito parties.
