SLOW BURN is a meditation on culling our desire and need
for extraneous possessions, burning down those things
that are not pure of heart, and warming the soul in the
embers left behind. Through loss and renewal, we may
realize that the fear of our possessions no longer being
within grasp is often larger than the fear of not having
them at all.

“Things burn down and then you watch the flowers grow
back out of the cracks,” Michal reflected in an interview
with BandWagon. “It’s about watching things burn, but
realizing that they’re just things,” he said. “And realizing
that the pain of losing them actually creates space.”

Doomsday is a darkly cinematic journey through the edge of time, where beauty and tension intertwine in glowing waves of sound. The track begins with radiant, glowing arpeggios—a fragile light flickering in the distance, hinting at both hope and inevitability. From the shadows emerge echoes of synth leads crafted with Roland’s ZEN-Core engine, each phrase answering the other like voices calling across a collapsing skyline, weaving a dialogue of urgency and fate.

As the composition unfolds, multiple layers of pads and synth textures rise and collide, their shimmering walls of sound painting a vast, apocalyptic landscape. The Roland tones breathe both warmth and menace, wrapping the listener in a dense atmosphere where every frequency feels alive. The music surges forward, balancing luminous beauty against looming chaos—like the last dance of light before the world fades into silence.

“Doomsday” isn’t merely a song—it’s an aural prophecy, a breathtaking fusion of glowing arpeggios, echoing leads, and enveloping synth layers that transform the end into something achingly transcendent.

20 years before the emergence of STS9, NASA sent Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on a mission to the farthest reaches of the solar system and beyond. Each of these probes was equipped with identical Golden Records, special messages attached to what Carl Sagan called “a bottle launched into the cosmic ocean.” They contained numerous images and sounds from throughout the world, pieces of music from various cultures, a map identifying the location of our planet, and other information for whomever, or whatever, might find them.

While the Golden Records included greetings in 59 languages, they made no mention of nations and borders, wars and rivalries, or anything else that divides us. What they did mention was life, love, peace, birth--the things that bind us to one another and to the planet we call home. 

The Universe Inside is a reflection of this message. It is a story about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we’re going, and our place in the Universe. It says we are one, made of stardust and the forces of nature that evolved over billions of years. Connected by the sun, moon and stars, we are the living, breathing conscience of the Universe. 

"We are one, made from dust of the stars / down here we bear the weight of the pain and the scars / just want to live with nothing to hide / every one of us a universe inside."
