Why are there vocals on all these new songs? This part is so much better

I personally like this.  I've loved STS9 since the beginning, and do not feel this new material is compromising the band.  I like the vocals.  enough of the STS9 I know and love is still there, with some fresh new sounds.  IMO better than doing something that is the same as before.

I'm not loving these new songs so far. But of course we will all keep listening to whatever they put out, just only listen to it once.

I am not digging the overwhelming amount of vocal samples on these initial tracks.  To be honest, the tones, simple beats, click track style of production just doesnt draw me in. This ART you have created appeals to someone somewhere sometime.  Much love and respect to you and the crew. Stay True.

the vocals ruin it in my opinion. rest of the song is stellar.

It was right around 3 and a half years ago, at a small event in Detroit called LAZER TAG, that I met intergalactic funk wizard Freddy Todd﻿. Since then, I have come to call Fred one of my closest friends in this whole music thing. His song, "Winter Defroster" has held a special place in my heart throughout our friendship, as I feel that it truly represents all that is good in the funk-glitch realm while also symbolizing our brotherhood...so when Fred asked me to remix one of his tracks, it was a no brainer which one I chose.

Unfortunately this remix could not be featured on Fred's remix album due to a name conflict and the label refusing to release it as a result of that conflict, so I have decided to post it up for everyone to enjoy. Without further ado, I present to you my remix of one of my favorite songs of all time.

Divvy Up is the long awaited debut single from Half Color, a powerhouse collaboration between PLM artists MIchal Menert and Paul Basic. The track swells with synth stabs and orchestral hits, stomping along through a booming corridor of percussion and texture, knocking over anything in it's way.

"Mind Up" is the fourth single from Coachella performing, neo-soul talent Leo Napier’s debut EP. Born in the US but now a proud London Ladbroke Grove resident, you’ll recognise the versatile songwriter’s crisp vocals as featuring alongside Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon on Gramatik’s most successful single to date, Native Son. Chart topping dance act GRiZ’s electro-funk take on Before I Go Away was released by the DJ last year and has garnered millions of streams to date. This follows from their previous collaboration A Fine Way To Die which also has streams in the millions. 20 years before the emergence of STS9, NASA sent Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on a mission to the farthest reaches of the solar system and beyond. Each of these probes was equipped with identical Golden Records, special messages attached to what Carl Sagan called “a bottle launched into the cosmic ocean.” They contained numerous images and sounds from throughout the world, pieces of music from various cultures, a map identifying the location of our planet, and other information for whomever, or whatever, might find them.

While the Golden Records included greetings in 59 languages, they made no mention of nations and borders, wars and rivalries, or anything else that divides us. What they did mention was life, love, peace, birth--the things that bind us to one another and to the planet we call home. 

The Universe Inside is a reflection of this message. It is a story about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we’re going, and our place in the Universe. It says we are one, made of stardust and the forces of nature that evolved over billions of years. Connected by the sun, moon and stars, we are the living, breathing conscience of the Universe.
