Our first mix installment of 2024 is from our good friend TheBusiness. Local to Odessa, Delaware, Mike Barry sculpts, manipulates, and designs compositions of various styles to express emotional feelings, periods of time, and experienced circumstances to create an "audio journal" for future reflections.

With styles ranging from Electro-Soul, Lo-Fi, Experimental Bass, House, D&B, Ambient/Downtempo, and more, this melting pot of sound and emotion has something that anyone can enjoy, anytime, at any place.

'Where the Sun Sets' marks a personally defining moment for Motifv, and captures the essence of evolution and intentionality I strive for in my music. More than just an EP, it's a reflection of personal growth - a blend of vulnerability and the boldness to venture into new territories. The course of this adventure is charted through each track, beginning with the spark of departure, navigating through the richness of experiences and emotions, to finally pondering the intentions behind my creative destination. This project and its forthcoming companion release illustrate a journey from external explorations to inward quests. It's a narrative of transformation, embracing the changes that come with moving from light into darkness and finding our way back again. This release marks my most intentional and vulnerable release to date, and a real-time reflection of my life and the emotions and experiences that are shaping it.

Empty, Clear, and Quiet." Papadosio release their second collaboration with Ram Dass, "The Antidote For Fear". The deep and humble words in this incredible talk were interpreted musically during a studio improvisation. The music is intended to sonically illustrate a journey from being in a state of fear to a state of what Ram Dass calls, "spacious awareness". "Fear will have no new faces, fear has emptied out its bag of tricks, and still there is the human heart that seeks to see love.

In addition to all of the great artists who performed, the 2013 Wakarusa Festival was noteworthy for the extreme wind and weather that caused massive cancellations, including half of our 1st set and our scheduled 2nd set of the weekend. We wish we could have played more music and to make it up to y'all, we're offering the May 30th Main Stage set for FREE digital download!

20 years before the emergence of STS9, NASA sent Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on a mission to the farthest reaches of the solar system and beyond. Each of these probes was equipped with identical Golden Records, special messages attached to what Carl Sagan called “a bottle launched into the cosmic ocean.” They contained numerous images and sounds from throughout the world, pieces of music from various cultures, a map identifying the location of our planet, and other information for whomever, or whatever, might find them.

While the Golden Records included greetings in 59 languages, they made no mention of nations and borders, wars and rivalries, or anything else that divides us. What they did mention was life, love, peace, birth--the things that bind us to one another and to the planet we call home. 

The Universe Inside is a reflection of this message. It is a story about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we’re going, and our place in the Universe. It says we are one, made of stardust and the forces of nature that evolved over billions of years. Connected by the sun, moon and stars, we are the living, breathing conscience of the Universe. 

"We are one, made from dust of the stars / down here we bear the weight of the pain and the scars / just want to live with nothing to hide / every one of us a universe inside."
