Bengali song by Bhaktivinoda Thakura (1838-1914) called "Gaura Arotik".  The song is about Caitanya Mahaprabhu (1486-1534), the Indian saint and social reformer, depicting him surrounded by animals, friends, and demigods.  For piano solo, Stuart Trusty, pianist.

"Sri Srimate Ramunajaya uvaca", or "Ramunajacarya (1017-1136 BCE) spoke" Sri Mantrarajapadastotram into the Ahirbudhnya Samhita, a Sanskrit Pancharatra text.   (http://www.prapatti.com/slokas/english/mantraraajapadastotram.pdf)

The Ahirbudhnya Samhita indicates this mantra was written by Lord Shiva, who taught it to his wife Parvati, out of affection, in the form of instructions on how to worship Lord Nrshimadeva.   

This song is my rendition of Sri  Mantra Raja Pada Stotram.  It is sung twice, I am singing the part of Shiva and then Parvati.  My apologies, as this is my first vocal recording, and as I am not a trained vocalist, it can be correctly interpreted as a cry for help.  Nonetheless, the music is entirely original, it was inspired by Sri Mukkur Lakshmi Narasimhachariar Swami's recording on YouTube of the mantra at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CQX2m6z41M.

Mul Mantra

The Shiva Tandava Stotram was written by Ravana, king of Lanka, in praise of Lord Shiva.    Ravana played it on the vina- on his own entrails- and received a boon from Lord Shiva.

According to Bhagavata Purana, Ravana and his brother were the 2nd incarnation of Jaya and Vijaya- heavenly beings who had been cursed by the Kumaras and had to live out three lives as enemies of God.  According to the text Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā, they later incarnated in the 1500's as Jagai and Madhai and met Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and were reconciled with God, but only after hitting him in the head with a rock.

Bhagavad Gita, extracted from recitation slokas of sanskrit.

1.  Bhagavad Gita literally means "Song" (geeta) "of God" (Bhagavad, or "the adorable one").  It is a song sung by divinity.
2. The Bhagavad Gita​, like many texts written by sage Vyasadeva is in alternating meters of poetry called Anushtup and Trishtup.  
3.  Sanskrit is learned through repeating stanzas of these verses in a sing-song like fashion that isn't exactly music, more like a rhythmic cadence.  You would hear it if you were present at a yagna (fire ceremony), or listening to aspirants recite prayers.  Sometimes it is said fast, or sometimes it is repeated slowly as repeated between students in training.
4.  The Bhagavad Gita is a story told in the middle of a battlefield where personality Krishna is talking to his dear friend Arjuna, where he explains spiritual principles in a philosophical way.  It is a chapter in the middle of the greater volume called Mahabarata.

This is a musical interpretation of the reduced melody of the Sanskrit slokas of Bhagavad Gita- it is my attempt to put the "song" back in the "Song".  Thanks for listening.

The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra (Sanskrit: महामृत्युंजय मंत्र, mahāmṛtyuṃjaya mantra "Great Death-conquering Mantra"), also called the Tryambakam Mantra, is a verse of the Rigveda (RV 7.59.12). 

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिंम् पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ।।

aumṁ tryambakaṁ yajāmahe sugandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam ǀ

OM. We worship the Lord who is fragrant and who nourishes and nurtures all beings. As the gardener severs the ripened cucumber from the vine, may he liberate us from death for the sake of immortality.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

(Replacement File) This is my piano version of the Gujarati song "Jay Aadhya Shakti" which is a staple of Goddess temples everywhere.  It is released for you this Durga Puja day, when it is sung during these nine nights of the Goddess, called Navaratri.  I've subtitled it "The Gujarati Goddess Song", as it's about Adi Parashakti (Shakti), who also appears as the Goddess Durga.  

This song is dedicated to with Acharya Vrujlal with appreciation to his tireless endeavor to teach Vedic philosophy to any and all that will listen.

Jagganathastakam was written by Adi Shankaracharya.  While it is often wrongly attributed to Caitanya Mahaprabhu, it may be because he sang it every day for the 24 years he spent in Jagganatha Puri.

This song is about Shankaracharaya vizualizing (nayana-patha, passing before my eyes) Lord Jagganatha, who is considered the "supreme" form of God- the highest and all-inclusive idea of divine consciousness.  His face was the basis for the 1970's smiley-face ("have a nice day") icon, and he is revered as both a Vedic and Tantric deity in Hinduism, and as a non-sectarian, he shares common aspects and regard within other philosophies as well. A Day With Bhaktivedanta Swami

Gopi Gita
From Bhagavata Purana, Part X, Chapter 31, Verses 1-19

These young girls in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, are singing from the depths of missing their beloved in the most acute pain of separation.  Much to their astonishment, their beloved hears their song, and as a result he appears before them.  

Since their beloved is none other than the divine Lord Krsna, he takes them away for an entire night of Lord Brahma, where their longing to be with him is fulfilled for over 2 million years.

This is the final track to the musical Bhagavan, and it is dedicated to Bhaktivedanta Tridandi Swami Maharaj, who insisted we his students in Vrindavan pay acute attention to this one small passage of the Bhagavata Purana, and he considered it the crowning and most important section in all of the Vedic literature.  He writes this of Gopi Gita:  "It is the very essence of the essence of the Bhagavatam.  Nothing can go beyond it."
