This is the opening track off my album Utopia, its all about destiny, and how I believe that everything happens for a reasons and steers us through our lives.

01-Lifeline

This was written as I was about to come out the RAF after 12 years.  It was about the inner turmoil I had been going through wondering if I was doing the right thing, as it says in the chorus, it was the best thing I could have done as things have definately been better since.

03-storm before the calm

This was written for a friend called Elise who had some difficult choices to make, a deliberate play on words.  another from my album Utopia.

05-For Elise

Written whilst I was at an A&R talk down in London, was my first time in the big smoke and was quite shocked at all that went on there, the ammount of homeless on every corner and the fact that people seemed to walk about with their heads down seemingly unaware to it all.



06-Slower than the flow

This song was written one lunchtime on a very stressful day, I enjoyed recording this at Clearwater Studios in Perth.  Steve Du-Caine my engineer/co producer turned off all the lights in the studio and told me to close my eyes and remember what inspired me to write it then pressed record.


07-Burnout

Written at a time where everything seemed to be going right, but like gravity what goes up must come down, so song has deliberate hint of irony about it.



08-On a High

I genuinely have no idea where the inspiration came from for this one, I think possibly from reading too many fairytales to my nieces, Ive always liked it because it is humorous and something a little different from anything else I have written.



09-Fact or folklore

Written the day after my youngest Niece Hannah was born.  I had forgotten how amazing a new born baby is and wasinstantly in awe of her.  I was staying at my brothers house and picked up his guitar and wrote it.

10-Anytime

Without doubt the song that means more to me than any other, written at  a time when I felt very alone, dedicated to my Dad.
