The Black Light Disco takes to the high seas that are the My House Radio airwaves - this week hoisting the Pookie Knights skull and crossbones to plunder your booty and search for sunken treasures.

The Pookie lads have been hard at it in the Stereophonic Research Labs here in BLD Towers, curating tunes and stuffing them into their plunder sack full of ill-gotten disco bangers and gold-plated housers. Included in this week’s cruise around the tropical islands are quality grooves from the likes of Phonk D & Sascha Ciminiera, RIVA STARR feat. Nic Hanson & Joe Le Groove, Mattei & Omich feat. Ep14 - Discoholic Ken - The Disco Walton Mix Sessions. (10th August 2025)

This week's show was a House Music Extravaganza! Host Neil Willis kicked things off with a slamming set of fat chunky, jackin' house, and sometimes filthy house tunes that blew the roof off. Neil hosts two other excellent shows on NDC Radio, his Monday "Different Strokes" show, and the massive Friday night prime time show, Live Life

His special guest for the second hour was Col Lawton, a DJ and producer from South Shields whose love of music began early, listening to bands like The Jam, Stone Roses, Blur, and Oasis before discovering house music in the early 2000s. Drawn to its rhythms and emotions, he found inspiration at house parties and from friends who encouraged his passion. Early influences such as Miguel Migs, Mark Farina, and the Naked Music label shaped his ear for deep, soulful grooves, while mentors like Stu Welford helped guide his journey into DJing.

Col’s music reflects his belief in the emotional power of house, something he first experienced playing a live set in Newcastle. That feeling of connection remains central to his work today. Inspired by family, especially his wife and son, and by close friends who continually push him forward, Col is dedicated to creating music that resonates deeply with listeners.

As a producer, he is developing his sound in the studio, working with collaborators, and performing more widely in clubs and events. Influenced by artists such as Scott Diaz, Sebb Junior, Manuel Costela, and The Journey Men, Col hopes to leave a lasting mark by crafting house music that people remember, cherish, and feel.He is the co-owner of Deep Fix Recordings, and also hosts his own show on NDC Radio

The Black Light Disco Show enters the orbit of planet myhouseradio.fm once again with another two hour Monday sulk-buster to set you up nicely for the week ahead!

Its the start of a new month, and as we head into the autumnal haze the Pookie Knights lads are setting up in the Stevie Wonder Bistro here in BLD Towers, ready for a summer farewell set as they head off to Ibiza to play at the closing parties.

Greg ain’t just a DJ; he’s a proper Bobby Dazzler’s of the groove. A seasoned selector, broadcaster, and promoter, after a mercifully short-lived career in up-close magic, he found his true calling in sonic sorcery. He's been behind the decks since the early '90s - from Midlands house nights to legendary London haunts like SW1 and The Cross, plus a three-year residency at the Big Chill Bar. He's the gaffer behind the much-loved Borderline club night in South-West London and a proud member of the Waltons family & co-hosts the award-winning Feel Good Friday Show with Pete Ellison. Gregory is sharp as a butcher’s knife — one minute he’s slicing silky disco  next he’s dropping a deep house cuts  A beefy bassline fatter than your nans special Sunday roast and just peng as yer gramps jellied eels.

Stuart Goodfella Staples is a DJ versed in the art of storytelling, taking his audience on an auditory journey from the moment he takes to the stage. 
Hailing from the UK, Stuart has been serving up his own brand of Deep, Funky, Uplifting, and Vocal House for over 30 years. He has played in some of the world's most renowned venues and club nights, headlined, and recently rubbed shoulders with dance music legends Dennis Ferrer, Nassa Baker, Late Night Tuff Guy, John Digweed and many more and gained a reputation as both a formidable DJ and producer. 
From Clubs and festivals in the UK and Europe to world-class clubs and festivals across Australasia, New Zealand and Asia, Stuart h
as secured bookings alongside the leading forces in dance music, playing festivals, raves, and in dance arenas with over 10,000 people, and regularly plays in Ibiza and the UK when visiting.
He artfully mixes his classics dating back to the 90’s -2000's with everything from Funky, Uplifting House, through to pumping sets. Over the last 4 years, Stuart has been running and performing at The Shindig club nights, with guest slots in Brisbane city and interstate.
He has now secured a residency on the world-renowned NDCRADIO.CO.UK  on Saturday 8-10 pm AEST and 10 am - 12 noon UK  GMT.
