Arranger Phillip Keveren has cleverly melded 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' with the 'Waltz of the Flowers' from the ultimate Christmas ballet, Tschaikovsky's 'Nutcracker Suite'. 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' dates from 1963. It had lyrics by Edward Pola and music by George Wyle, who was a vocal director for the Andy Williams Show. Williams introduced the song on his second Christmas show and included it on a very successful Christmas album. Over a period of 30-odd years, its popularity grew to the extent that it became one of the 10 top-selling Christmas songs of all time (http://singingthesonginmyheart.com/its-the-most-wonderful-time-of-the-year/). 'The Nutcracker Suite' was composed by Pyotr Tschaikovsky in 1891 as a commission for the Imperial Russian Ballet, which required a score based on French author Alexandre Dumas’ adaptation of German author E.T.A.
