The Paradox of Principles' is Scott's third outing on the label and continues to impressively lay the foundations for the Grand Plans sound. Deeply introspective and well-crafted, there's a palpable sense of conscience and contemplation behind every track title and every moment that spans this release.

The EP springs to life with the lead track 'Mistreated' - a yearning, gospel influenced number that also features a remix from Manchester duo Studioheist, who enjoyed a stellar 2016 via their notable works on Large Music. Continuing the thoughtful and reflective theme, Scott enlists Chicago's KE to provide spoken vocals on 'Take It Back', a throwback jam with solid drums and jazz chords that pays homage to house music's golden age. The final track, 'I Sold My Soul' - with it's monologue about integrity - is a warning about the pitfalls and mistakes of playing to popularity and is a statement of self-criticism and contrition from an artist who's not afraid to wear his musical heart on his sleeve.

Studioheist are Scott Lee & Andy Cain, two music obsessed DJs & producers hailing from Manchester.
The pair have been active on the scene for almost 15 years both being DJs in their own right. Scott having held a residency at long running house night ‘Rude’ before gaining a regular slot spinning disco & house in the bar at Sankeys, and Andy who began his career DJ’ing on the early 00s Manchester house scene before securing a long running residency with Disco Electronica at Sankeys.

They have really gained momentum over the past couple of years being charted at 29 in the Traxsource top 100 deep house artists in 2015 and making the top 20 in 2016 moving up to number 18. Their productions have also made an impact in the charts with 2 tracks in the top 20 in Traxsource’s top 200 deep house of 2015 and an amazing 6 featuring in the 2016 top 200 deep house with ‘All My Love’ making the top 10.

They have gained support from a whole range of artists and DJ’s including Simon Dunmore, Sandy Rivera, Low Steppa, Kenny Dope, Mousse T, Scott Diaz and even techno legend Marco Carola who played their remix of Tom Ellis' 'For Five' it at Amnesia closing in 2016. 

They now release consistently on legendary Chicago label Large Music and 2017 has seen them push themselves to produce more original house music breaking into the Beatport charts and hit top 40 with 2 tracks from the 'You' EP.
