If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

A few demos for songs that I intended to bring into my old band in Edinburgh, Scotland, but unfortunately that never happened due to Covid, my visa expired, and now I'm back in the outskirts of the Twin Cities looking to do something with them.

Muchas Cervezas

Fist Bump is driven along by a bassline that sits somewhere between Post-Punk and Rockabilly. While the guitars snarl and seethe, emphasising the drone effect of the bass, the drum track is loud, syncopated and treated with dramatic resonant effects. The vocal reminds me of Franz Ferdinand jamming with Kurt Vile. Kind of electronic Alt Rock that makes highly impactful use of dynamic contrasts and grows in intensity before signing off more gently with a chord-based piano-only figure at the end. One you will surely want to listen to again if only to answer the question: What just happened?  (Neil March, Fresh On The Net Review, Jan 17th 2022)

Alec Clegg was Chief Education Officer for the West Riding of Yorkshire from 1945 to 1974. He believed in a liberal arts based education for all and held that such an approach stimulated better outcomes generally. Anyone going to a West Riding school would be encouraged to paint, draw, dance, sing, or learn a foreign language simply because it was the right thing to do. 

No-one today has ever heard of him. 

No child today escapes the grim “if-you-fail-maths-you-will-die” austerity of national curricula, academy chains and ofsted inspectors with bad hair and no dress sense.

This tune, whose first line is taken from an Ian McMillan article about Clegg, is a nostalgic howl for something better for our children.

Some exciting news from the Cafe Le Wooltone.
Today I release a song from my upcoming solo album ‘Blues, Beats and Brel' - it’s called ‘She's A Mean’ and features a live stripped back acoustic performance with merely a hint of piano (and handclaps). And production by Fran Ashcroft. 
The album splits into three styles (hence the title) based on a 'diet of old blues records, beat poetry and Jacques Brel accordion sandwiches'.
De toute facon this one fits more into the ‘Blues' scheme of things.

Veteran pole position driver D ‘Dekker’ J makes an unexpected detour in her 34th Car and Driver Heat Award appearance. In a barely audible audio press comment, Dekker is heard saying ‘the SAT NAV started playing up…..it’s as if we were meant to be here’. Officials are still attempting to locate the pop up street party that has allured Dekker…tipped to win again, but as of yet, are unable to report anything of significance.
