Way Down The Rainbow, an Alternative Rock Band hailing from Kongsberg, Norway, has been making waves in the music industry with their unique sound and meaningful lyrics. “We got together and jammed every single school break, and got together after school to play,” says Peter, one of the band members. After performing their first school show, they fell in love with the experience, convincing Peter's brother Jonatan to start at the same school and join the band. Jonatan was working as a mechanic at the time but quit his job after a serious incident where he almost cut off his finger, choosing to take up high school with the band.
“The school was more of a meeting ground, and we would often ditch classes to make music. Only one member finished high school,” says Peter.
Way Down The Rainbow's music is not just about the sound, but also about the message. Their lyrics touch on mental health issues, aiming to break down the stigma surrounding these topics. The band wants to inspire their listeners to seek help when needed and to know that they are not alone in their struggles.
