Some edits and white-label versions are now exclusively available on vinyl, slowly disappearing from online platforms as a counterblow to Spotify and other streaming services. This shift helps ensure that the DJs and producers behind these versions are gradually receiving fairer pay for their hard work and creative contributions—providing unique edits for discerning DJs.

I was honored to be invited by a dear friend, Sebastian, to help celebrate his special night alongside close friends, in the unique and intimate setting of the beautiful cocktail bar Hella, located by the harbor at Aarhus Ø ("Aarhus Island").

The mission: a 5-hour DJ set—crafted with feeling and a special vibe—building slowly and steadily throughout the night.

What you're hearing here is only about 45 minutes from the full set. Vinyl only. Roughly the middle portion.

Later in the night, I switched to Phase, where I played more of my own edits and other special material.

I embrace both the old-school approach and modern technology—it’s all good.

As it stands today, rare vinyl edits can only be found on vinyl—which I personally like and fully support.

A huge thank you to Sebastian for having me, and to his wonderful and kind guests.

And of course, much respect to the hard-working team and crew at Hella Aarhus—what a vibe they bring!

Thanks also to Soundwise for delivering an excellent extra sound setup, and to local DJ hero Mads, a.k.a. Mads Appel, for making sure the DJ gear was running tip-top at the venue.

Nogle edits og white-label versioner findes nu udelukkende på vinyl og forsvinder stille og roligt fra internettet – som et modsvar til Spotify og andre streamingtjenester. Det sikrer, at DJs og producere, som laver disse versioner, langsomt begynder at få en mere fair betaling for deres hårde arbejde og kreative bidrag – og samtidig giver unikke værktøjer til kreative DJs.
