This is an arrangement of This is Berk and Coming Back Around (From How to Train Your Dragon) That I did for an orchestration project at school. I orchestrated this for wind ensemble and joined the two pieces together. It was a lot of fun to play! (This is not my wind ensemble playing) I do not own this song or the picture. I've told myself time and time again that writing a full score for a piece of media (Movie/TV/Game) would be the pinnacle of my music hobby. While my composition skills are definitely far from enough to do something massive like that, I do still enjoy writing to a theme/scene/idea in my head. 

All that being said, writing a score for a piece of literary fiction would've been the least expected thing on my list. Turns out, it's been one of the most enjoyable things I've done so far. 

Sovereign of Wrath is an original work of high-fantasy fiction by MadMaxine on both Scribblehub and Royal Road (see links below). I stumbled upon it a few weeks ago and ran through all 200-something chapters in under a week, absolutely hooked. The depth of the world and characters was superb and it almost immediately inspired me to try and write some music.

This specific piece focuses on the wedding in chapters 156 & 157, and it actually lines up pretty well with the writing if you start it playing at the beginning of the first paragraph. The section names and character themes are called out in the breakdown below - one of the most fun parts of writing this was thinking about the scene pacing in my head, as if they were scenes in a film.
