Truth is stranger than fiction they say, 2020 has proven it. This is not the year we asked for, but it's the year we received. Remarkably, even as clubs and social events across the world shuttered, the spirit of Techno remained alive in living rooms, bedrooms, and basements planet-wide. We hope you still draw inspiration, and excitement in the culture we've collectively nurtured for so many years. Before long we will see each other again, hug and kiss one another, and reconnect under more auspicious stars. For now, we wait. 

Luckily, we have new music for you to pass the time. We present the latest vinyl 12” record release courtesy of From 0-1: Life Under Lockdown, featuring tracks by Kessell (1/2 of the legendary Spanish duo, Exium), Joton (founder of Newrhythmic Rec.), HD Substance (co-founder of Sub_tl, and teacher at the Bass Valley), and JX-216 (co-founder of From 0-1).

Athens based DJ & producer, Jerm, debuts on Soma with a massive new release, Electric City EP. A relative new face to the greater Techno world, Jerm is quickly ascending the ranks with multiple hard hitting original productions and remixes which are garnering attention across the board. His debut Soma release sets down strong roots with direct and unrelenting Techno, moving from hard edged industrial sounds, to jacked up 90s flavoured elements. Also appearing for the first time on Soma, in the form of a remix, is UK Techno maverick, Manni Dee.

Control Theory opens the release with powerhouse beats and eviscerating synths and a colossal amount of attitude. Manni Dee’s remix of Control Theory feeds on that attitude and take it up even more with clear nods to the rapid Birmingham sound. Glass Chinn keeps the intensity flowing with galloping percussion that leads directly into a dark, driving and industrial-esq affair. Maiden Voyage works in more hypnotic elements whilst still retaining Jerm’s concussive and direct sound. The jacking and funked up vibes of Booze Cruise can be found as a Bandcamp exclusive.

Wrapping up the year with impressive releases, FLUG aka SEBASTIAN LOPEZ is the curator of this incredible selection, throwing the listener into a galloping universe made of warehouse anthems, pick-time rollers and old-school tools. The Argentinian’s track “THE PIANO” was techno number one for six consecutive months, so label boss Marco Faraone thought that after this outstanding result he was the perfect artist to collect this new musical journey sharing his personal music message. Having a solid career in what he truly loves he released music on many established techno labels like Nina Kraviz’s “TRIP”, Dustin Zahn’s “Enemy Records” and his own record label “Existentia” launched this year.
