Premiere: Fabrizio Lapiana "O.B.E. II" - Attic

With great delight, we welcome to our premiere section Slak's newest track Under Control, from Lab's upcoming Patience EP. This shared release with Datafive will officially be in stores in vinyl and digital format on March 1st, while it is already available for pre-purchase via the label's Bandcamp. The track, which consists of hyped-up, prancing beats with futuristically groovy drives, dunks and scours the veins of the UK's broken-techno golden currents. Urban, metropolitan vibrations carve an upbeat path to a suburban warehouse, promising a low-light dancefloor to make oneself feel at "home". Once reaching that destination, the stylized, darkened patterns and fissuring breaks conjoin in a continuous, mild, and dance-oriented loop for some rewardingly expressive moments behind the big garage doors.

Artefakt continues their collaboration with Semantica Records announcing their mini-LP ‘Floodplain’ to be released on the 7th of April. The 6-tracker creates a sonic landscape out of mountainous rhythms, mutating synths and liquid bass patterns contrasted with timid feedback resonances and fluttering shimmery piano recordings against a backdrop of environmental sound. Connecting to naturally engulfing floodplains the EP flows organically into a network of hypnotic structures highlighting the duo’s unique sculptural approach to techno in line with their former album ‘Monsoon’.

Exercises Vol.3

The infamous duo comprising label co-owner Hd Substance and scfi master A4 collide again in the studio for the third installment of their renowned exercises series. Previously released on this very label and on Inguma Records.

For this EP they want to be aside of the current fast paced trends creating five exercises of ambient, breaks, acid and the compulsory bleep portion.

Release starts with Exercise Nine, crunchy hi frequency noises, wavetable dreamy pads made on a rusty old Korg Wavestation and some spoken word action by an old scientist explaining how waveforms behave sampled from Youtube.

Second cut is the bleepy Exercise Ten, abstract asymmetrical sequences, 808 raw rhythms and a minimal approach in an ode to hyperspace. On Exercise Eleven, the 808 is starring again with a broken groove setting the pace for a Korg ms 20 sequence galore and white noise twisted live during the recording. The spoken word comes from the first cut as well as the Wavestation pads.

Exercise Twelve goes straight to the dancefloor bringing the System 55 modular system on the sequenced lines plus the odd 909/808 combo again on virtual drumming duties.

Closing the release Exercise Thirteen return to broken rhythms and Fm metallic hits plus some tb 303 blurbs to add the citric element to the equation.

With thirteen tracks already released the duo is working on a live set together that will see the light somewhen in 2024 if planet earth is still alive.

SUB_tl 081_ Rude Solo_Exercises Vol.3

Swimming in deep and seemingly calm waters has turned into a kind of extreme sport in a music scene that keeps cranking up the BPMs and toughening its vibe. That's why stumbling upon EPs like the one Madrid-based producer Blovk is dropping on Gordo Trax with this "Quiescence" feels like a bit of a luxury.

From his studio, where cables snake into his modular synthesizers like injecting venom, Blovk crafts four original tracks that showcase an artist hitting his stride. It's a journey through a analog, metallic, and textural sonic landscape.

In this "Quiescence" EP, you'll find futuristic minimalism, warm and cyclical sequences resonating in an organic space, techno landscapes, and a hunger for what's to come.

Adding to the mix, there are remixes by Viels and Fase Bipolar. The Italian artist, a regular on Warm Up Recordings, serves up a beautifully rounded, ethereal remix. Meanwhile, the Fase Bipolar duo, based on Sungate Records, injects their characteristic robotic groove into a dancefloor-oriented remix.
