Jake Hicks & Jack Pike, aka Hillsdom, have been making music together for years after meeting at school. We welcomed Hillsdom to the Soulvent Records family back in October 2024 with ‘Good 4 U’, an uplifting, high energy, feel-good banger - laden with lush pads and big bass notes. Then we had them join the 10 year celebrations in May 2025 with a more gully offering in ‘Jynx’. Now they're back, following this up quickly with ‘Restless’. A more laid back affair but giving them opportunity to show even more of the capabilities they have in the locker.

The airy intro slowly brings in the hi-hats with increasing speed but whilst the arrival of the drop may catch you by surprise, the content within is absolutely as you’d expect. A driving bassline, guttural bass stabs and snappy drums come together and result in a dark liquid roller that sounds great in headphones and on sound systems.

Don’t sleep on ‘Restless’ the latest offering from Hillsdom, which lands in all good stores on 18th July.

So... 1000 followers. 

It's a milestone that many cherish as it's their first real taste of success. 

But what makes it all the more special for me is the highs and lows. For those who don't know, my old instagram account got hacked by someone who used a friends account to swindle me out of mine. I had 925 followers or there abouts. 3 years of blood, sweat and tears, gone, like that. 

I started from zero, and 2 years later, I am so close to reaching 1000 followers. 

The best part? The people who I have connected with via the platform; the opportunities I've had since, and the memories I have made, and will continue to make. 

Big ups to the lot of you for your support.
